Was pretty good. A different style of rave to my liking, but still very very fun. It was cool meeting new people, especially felllow ravelinkers.

this was my first rave and I don't know if I can truly agree that it was that great. I did enjoy the music, the venue, the spectacular light shows, and most everything about it except for the police. I understand that security and safety are issues, but even if theres nothing going on I still can't say that I don't feel slightly uncomfortable with so many cops in all black sneaking around and shining flash lights at us. I got searched 2 times before I was even allowed to enter for the first time. I dunno, it just seemed a little extreme.

Yeah, I was also out for the first time at a rave. The venue was huge and didn't really fill up. I expected alot more people and it just didn't happen. The music was really good and there were some of the argon lasers that got to be good to watch.

The security was absolutely ridiculus!! We felt uncomfortable all night long. I would not have recommended that being a first.

i had a wonderful time, and really appreciate Source and everyone else for making such an experience possible, every underground-rave has their individual expression...
some raves are seemingly better then others, some are remarkably marvelous, some get busted by the actual-police after an hour... life has always good with bad, one just has to keep rollin' through... Wonderland definitely was a worthwhile effort...
my first rave was also in Chicago-Heights back in 97' - Return to the 21st Century... from then until Return to the Masterdome, a few weeks ago in L.A. there has always been hired-security walking around flashing lights, as in last night, even if it was more then usual.. that doesn't really make it uncomfortable, and they do have to search or alcohol etc could get brought in...
the genuine Chicago rave-scene is like a wave - up & down, it is just starting to rise again...

For the "newb"(not offensive), the cops being security was NOT BAD AT ALL. I felt a lot better knowing that the cops wouldn't bust in and raid/handcuff people(those who went to Afterlife know what I'm talking about[no one was handcuffed I know, but previous stories I've heard involved it]). The ass grab searches did suck, but as you start going to more raves you'll realize they don't hand you drugs when you walk in, or give you slack. It was pretty normal security, perhaps a TINY bit more, but still not bad at all. I did like the venue a little, seemed a little ghetto to me though.

I did not like however how blah people looked. Only around 20% of people were dancing-that's saying a lot considering that there were maybe 2 lightshows going on at a time. I really was disappointed that not that many lights/fun things were going on-I love dancing and all, but this is a rave not just a dance party.

I think most people gave up because the directions were so hard to understand atleast to us.

The security thing wasn't that big a problem to me- I guess I am used to it. But as for the party as a whole, I wasn't really impressed by the crowd. ( Exception- Chris Da DJ, Kandy Jill, Mark, & Da trio from DA Northside.) Everyone wasn't really into the rave as I had hoped. I still had a good time since I brought some cool people with me.
Another rave, another X-perience.

alright here's what i thought of wonderland:

in a word, strange. im not really sure what to call this party last night. it was definitely supposed to be a rave and it would have been just that had the crowd been different the vibe was just downright wierd and a little erie. i know i was totally sketched out for a good portion of it. maybe its because i wasnt rolling face like the rest of the people. anyways here is a run-down on my good/bad opinions on wonderland.

good:

stacy kidd playing 'do what ya feel' and house stepping like i was 18 again
mark almaria playing 2-3 cuts that i hoped he would play
good lasers definitely fun when your dancing
decent venue alot of room

bad:

security completely crazy and kept busting me for cig smoking
stacy kidd sound shorting out, really PO'd me
the crowd was too strange, wierd, and small
like 20% of the crowd was dancing
no booze, dissapointing
not enough energy to dance for long periods of time (i needed ridalin!)
watching a DJ and security nearly fight in the 2nd room

I had an absolute awesome time at winter wonderland. I thought the venue kicked ass (awesome projector and lasers!) people were cool, there were loootsa people gettin down on the dance floor. I don't know what you people are saying with on %20 dancing, i mean common, are people supposed to be dancing there ass off the whole time?

All in all, everyone was into the music, dancing at some time or another, and there were always a group dancing that you could jump into when you felt the time was right. Lotsa good vibes if you ask me, lotsa cool people i just went up to and started chatting with. Cool outfits, and lots of security (i don't think this is a negative, but definitly a possitive like revenant said). AWESOME DJ's!!! That was some great music being played, just what i like to hear. I had an awesome awesome awesome time and don't see much wrong with that party... I'm surprised everyone has there little negative aspect they want to push out, i mean ok so something might not have been what you expected, but common, it was a party that was put on well and the crowd was for sure a down raver crowd. That was just what i wanted out of a rave.

So heres are list so far...

Good:
-good music
-good lasers
-some say good security

Bad:
-To much security, to many flashlighting all of us
-Venue didn't fill up
-not enough light shows
-only 20% dancing at a time
-directions were to hard to understand
-wasn't impressed by the crowd, people wern't "into the rave" like expected
-no alcohol
-music shorting out
-crowd was strange and erie

I thought that was an awesome rave, to much negative going on with it, lets talk about how it was a good rave, cuz we know it was! The promoter did his part, i thought the venue was great, the music was great. How about the people? I met a lot of cool people, lots of kandy kids who were into the scene, lots of thugs who were into the scene, lots of "wierd looking people" who were into the scene. Just because someone doesn't dress up all raver like, doesn't mean there not down with the rave scene. I'm really surprised people arn't talking about how this was a great rave, cuz to me I can't find to much wrong with it...

I think we need to stop looking at the old raves where there were thousands of kids and etards running around hugging everyone who comes in the door and everyone dancing until their heart stops, but instead look at how this rave had a lot of good things about it, and if it keeps growing the way it is then itl keep getting better and better.

Thank you so much Source, I think this rave kicked ass and hope you have more like it to come.

Sorry about the big long rant, I just was expecting everyone to be going off on how cool this rave was but instead read a bunch of mixed reviews... it bothers me!

I had a blast at winter wonderland. I was to fucked up in the beginning to enjoy myself, wich kinda sucked and was stupid of me, but then i started to get back to normal and be able to dance and have a good time. I liked the venue, the crowd and the security. I loved meeting some new RL'ers like KandyJill and dankdank and all and all thought this was a sweet rave. I think the next one we all plan on going to we all go to together, like meet up someplace and head over and hang out in a group for the night. Thanks so much KandyJill for helping me and my friend out. Dankdank, thanks sooo much for being a great host, definitly the dankydank! And revenant, that was so cool of you to just go on a whim like that. We need to start all partying together. That was some awesome music, I thought dj rampage had it goin on and stacey kidd too.
