So lets dream people.
All I hear nowadays are about the times when "raves where raves," where people used the term MASSIVE and meant it. Well I'm sorry i'm young enough to have just missed the boat on that one, but my question is this: WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO HAVE A 20,000 PERSON MASSIVE IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO BY THE END OF THIS YEAR? I don't want to hear it can't be done. I want people to ask why it hasn't been done yet . What artists/dj's/genres would draw the most people? There's 8 million people in this city alone. Congress theater has frequently sold out with just a few main headliners and really not much production. Another thing i noticed is that many of these production/promotion "companies" are really just one person. Well obviously that puts a financial strain on anyone. Well what if, just maybe, Infrared, Seismic Bass, Source, Shake-it-Town, Alliance, M.I.A., Illmeasures, Custom Vibes, Trioxin, TFU, etc. put their differences asside and came together, not just to support their own crews but to make one truly awesome mind-opening religious unifying positive tribal dance-fest that we can all support? If money is still a problem then we can talk with sponsors. this is what i had in mind [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Lets talk. PLUR is now* if you want it ![]() |

Promotor unity is right..
also gonna need some BIG headliners that represent a variety of styles, both raver styles and some mainstream stuff to draw out newbies. Also a key date that everyone will have free.. Friday after thanksgiving anyone? ![]() |

Big headliners, Big ass venue, get several promoters together, get a legal team together, and have a rediculously large budget that you will not be afraid to take a loss on, because you love the music.

The only decent track by Tiesto is Traffic. If you don't know it, I highly recommend giving it a listen once or twice. Fucking sick.
Also, to Tmy raping a baby.Aaaaaand, I don't ever see a massive anything besides a big name concert happening in Chicago by the end of this year. The only kind of music event that is going to bring anywhere near these numbers you speak of in the city is Lolla or other well-known and highly promoted music festivals/concerts. Once again, Americans have corrupted the youth with media influence and all your base are belong to us... Ruuuuuuun!!! ![]() |

i think in order for this to happen we're gonna need more than a variety of electronic music.
pvd/oakenfold/tiesto, as much as a crowd they could bring--still probly couldnt bring as much as simply having a dope rock, hiphop or even funk headliner on stage...that and we wouldnt have to deal with pvd/oakenfold/tiesto. get atmosphere, gym class heroes, parliament, jamiroquai, the faint, postal service or even panic! (sorry, i dont know shit about rock music). even the annual Detroit ELECTRONIC MUSIC Festival brings in more than just EDM. |

The budget needed would be huge but returns would pay it off I think. If you can get 20,000 people to show up your talking like 200k USD, if entry is only 10 bucks. But to get a turn out like that I would say hit up every town/city within a train ride of Chicago. How much does it usually cost to make a rave happen anyway?
