I never said we were doing this for free. It was my understanding that the stages were all DIY and if there was profit to be divided up at the end of the event with the stages, it would be done. If you knew this going into the agreement, why did you continue?

Its not really a funny matter. We made agreements back in December when we were just beginning to plan this event. I have many email confirmations in this promoters words. 5 months down the line (when interest in the event builds up).... after flyers have been printed Fonz decides to change agreements around on us, up demands a notch, ask for deposit, signed contract, and worst of all... when we couldn't come to a (NEW) agreement, asks for money for his troubles and MIA logo (personally). Now he's threatening to talk shit on the event and "a slander campaign that devastate you whole event on a national level" (his words) What a professional. Have at it Fonz.

Regardless, this event will go on with or without Fonz de la Mota. I personally extend our sincere apologies to all talent billed/booked that got fucked out of this. We will be issuing staff passes to all talent that was involved in this debacle. Please send your mailing address' to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Also, Fonz seems to be spreading rumors on the shutdown times of the event. To clarify, we are now posting BOTH MAINSTAGE TIMESLOTS.

happy hardcore Re: The 2008 Midwest Electronic Music Festival

I'm already going to Starscape, but I am SO going to this. The lineup alone is fucking SICK! That, and they got a variance from the FCC to run a 30W laser. SICK SICK SICK!! this event is going to exceed all my expectations about how a festival is done, for sure!

I can't WAIT to see this!

Calling all east coast party people who want to carpool (VA, DC, NC)!

SWEET!!

You guys don't even know! The largest laser system ever brought out in the Midwest was a 12W back in the days of Drop Bass. This 30 Watt system is water cooled, can burn through paper, and turn the sky into an ocean...

yep i was boogie tribe blah blah blah, hate hate hate.. our production/lineups/spaces and events are legendary unless we wouldnt work with you or didnt honor you at the door then you hated us and we were wack.

dudes just pissed cause he pulled a stoner move and didnt follow up, tried to play us shady and yeah people need to know. all he had to do was read the contract prior to the printing of the flyer and it would of been done. so what are the set times the diy stages can run till, you mentioned that sunday in no music, and the diy stages will probably be shut down early and thats a reason not to pay the fee..... internet slander. LOL gotta love it.

"We were going to pay you $1000-1500. I suggest you reconsider"

we still turned down this offer, its not about the money.

So this event should be reduced to a 2 stage 2 night event. All extra money should go to bringing in world class headliners that will draw more than 400 ish people.

After about 4 {successful} years of such events, then more stages should be added. In the current state of the scene, 20 stages is just crazy, especially if decent numbers of people are expected to be dancing at each one.

if they were going to pay us that, and we could care less about that cash since it really comes down to us not trusting them. i say they spread that money out to other stages who went out of there way to get good line ups.

Umm, thats what I thought too. the first 3 stages were the mains and then every stage after that being a DIY stage.. Why would anyone think their getting paid in advance to set up their own stage is beyond me.. If it didn't happen for the Caveman Experience events or the Underground Sound events that were 3 days why would this be any different..

No worries though, it's only 1 out of 16 DIY stages.. There will be more than enough DnB/jungle for the 3 days to hold everyone over for a very long time!!!

This is going to be an even better event now!!!

By the sounds MIA wasn't offered ANY money till THEY faultered on the DIY part of the original contract and Infared was doing their best to allow those who wanted MIA there to be able to hear them.
