Smoke Machines?

I've been wondering why smoke or fog machines aren't used anymore. Besides creating a cool dancing atmoshpere they make the lasers and lights more visible.
I used to always see them back in the day, now I hardly ever do.?

well i kno alot of ppl that really dont like how the fog smells/makes them cough/ or the fact that they cant see anything but the lasers, i personally dont mind them.

i think i'm starting to prefer intelligent lighting w/ minimal to no fog setups anyways, light it up any1?

I still see a decent amount of fog machines at parties, although it is usually in the smaller venues. It is kinda sad they dont use em more.
Not sure why anyone would be opposed to em, Theres usually only a few covering just a lil section of the dance floor, and usually just up by the dj/lazer setup.
if you dont like the smell or something just dance a few feet away? Or even better, bring a vicks mask and you wont even notice .

Personally i Love doing doing lightshows in the fog, it just looks fuckin sweeeet. Also makes lazers awesome and makes pictures (for the most part) come out lookin surreal too.

ahh i didn't even notice the laser, the fog tho was very subtle and unintruding tho, i dug it.

i remember lucky charms tho(hate to keep goin back to this party, BUT) whoever was workin the fog machine fell asleep w/ the switch on, got really thick n smoggy up in there and that kinda sucked. even tho they were prolly jus tryin to hide the fact that not that many ppl were dancin.

i think heavy fog is best only used with lasers that go a good bit above the crowd, like the caves setup. hell u shouldnt be blastin ppl in the face with lasers anyways.

Yea for referance, Lucky Charms was the wrong way to implement it. Why would you blast that shit right in front of the dj so no one can see the stage? Especially during your headliner.
Enough about that party tho...

i saw fog machines at a few parties recently... lucky charms (HA HA HA), resonate, & seperation anxiety (a psy party).

yeah, i REALLY dug the lighting @ light it up. intellegent lighting is definitely superior to lasers in my book, unless you have a crazy insane 4,000$ laser like they did at sep anxiety.

I dont think a flyer has been posted here yet, but the guys that did Sep. Anxiety are doin another psy/GOA party on the 10th at the same venue.

Best lighting is minimal lighting. Fuck all this intelligent light sway to the left sway to the right shit, gimme a dark room with a red light and a projector.
