By popular demand, we released an additional 100 pre-sale tickets to be sold on Groovetickets. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] So if you tried to buy tickets online and it told you pre-sales were sold out, try again and you should be able to pick some up. Also, if you are like me and always wait till the last minute, we will have plenty of tickets at the door the night of. However, you can save yourself some money and get express entry with pre-sales from either: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or Zentra Nightclub 923 W Weed Street Chicago IL, 60622 Have a good day, Shan |

Check out the write up groovetix made on the show:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] When “mushroom-jazz” master Mark Farina rolls into town, there is never a dull moment. But when he rolls into town to bust a first-time-ever collaborative turntablist set with the inevitably impeccable DJ Qbert, things are just way too intense for anybody to keep up with. To top it all, the night also boasts an insane set by hometown hero Derrick Carter. Definitely hard to believe, but the night-to-end-all-others is officially this Saturday, June 17th at Metro in Chicago. The party, humbly dubbed “Lords of the Underground,” is thrown courtesy of House Arrest, a savvy production crew whose events are never less than unforgettable. Doors open at 11, and don't close until five in the dawn, so come late and stay later. Attendance at this one earns you bragging rights for at least a decade. So show up. Saturday Preview from UR Chicago Magazine:
"If ever there was a time to mark down Metro and SmartBar (3730 N. Clark, 773/549-0203) in one's calendar for a clubbing double-header, (Saturday) is the night. Upstairs, House Arrest Events presents “Lords of Underground” featuring Mark Farina, Q-Bert and Derrick Carter. Downstairs, hometown favorite Justin Long welcomes Sativa to the decks for his .dotbleep residency. Expect all floors to be going strong until 5 a.m." [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Free entry into Smartbar with a ticket to Metro. :-) [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

Yesterday there was an issue with groovetickets in which some people got the message "there are no tickets available for this show". There are in fact still some pre-sale tickets available. The issue has been resolved. If you got this message, simply go back to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and try again.
If pre-sales do sell out, there will still be tickets available at the door. sorry for the inconvenience, shan |

Listed in Newcity’s “Shows to see right now”:
“It would be egotistical to call your event “Lords of the Underground”, unless the talent can live up to that kind of billing. Although the June 17th event is pricey with presale tickets at $25, where else will you see these names spinning- not to mention three different sets from Mark Farina alone, including a tag-team with Q-Bert. As Farina and Derrick both reside in the same genre of bumpity house and both hail from Chicago, Californian Q-Bert seems the odd one out. He is known instead for turntablism skills that have won his group, the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, the DMC championship three years running. So even if you’ve seen Derrick, Farina, or Q-Bert before, the fact that they are all lumped together in one curious lineup should be enough to bring you back out. (Dani Deahl) Includes free access to Smart Bar with Justin Long.” :-) ~shan |
