Party on the Island !!! Alright, I got it all together except for the tunes.
My friend owns a good sized island in the middle of the Illinois River.(Same river that allows gambling ) and the island is 1 and 1/2 hours South of Chicago. (There is a bus from Chicago to Ottawa, and the rates are cheap!)Also owns a pontoon boat for transport and a generator for power. I plan on having a woodstock of a party like woodstock one. I plan on having it on July 4th 2006. The Island can handle 1,000 guests due to its limits on port-a-potties (PEEPEE TEEPEES). 2,000 if you dont mind piss'n in the river. There is power in numbers people for the simple fact that 2,000 people are harder to control. I am figuring around $25 a ticket to make it a party of parties. I can get a number of local jammers to do the show, or maybe you can suggest who you want to see and hear. Bring a tent cause it is gonna last awhile.. As far as cops, We already have 7 trained cop-watchers who will be on the look out for cop cars trying to drive to our island.. Ha Ha HaYeaahhh! No Guns...No Knives...No Cells (They don't work out here anyway) We will have 7 walkie talkies to keep in touch with the mainland for transport off the island and for paramedic support if needed... Anyone game? ![]() |

when i went the university of vermont i pretty much introduced the whole eastcoast to house music and raving. we were half-way to throwing a party when somebody robbed me! i had a contract signed with freaky flow and DJ 3D. we had a permit to hold it at this game room and flyer design was basically complete. all we needed was sound. it was going to be the first party in vermont (this is back in 98).
anyways party on the island sounds cool. some suggestions on DJ's: Lego Justin Long Traxx all 3 are my friends and GREAT house musicians and wont break the bank. if you had those 3 back-to-back-to-back, it would be a punch out. if you want some cheaper alternatives, BJAK (owner of wax addict) is one of my closest friends and him, Specter, and Caeser Ramirez will beat the living shit out of new wavedisco house for ridiculously cheap. |

Well you know the inescapable then. I gotta pay for the island..I gotta Pay for the lookout.. Flyer design? That's my world.. If you seen my website, I did that and several others by myself...As far as the entertainment goes, I am a bit selective about not letting shit into my parties. So let us try for your three best "punch out" and keep it in the budget. If they got no plans for the 4th, Lets get em now!

rofl! This sounds sick but man wouldn't it suck if 5.0 came and we were all trapped on the island. We would all have to swim in the water when its all pitch black. I'm a great swimmer, don't get me wrong. The only thing I'm scared of is wild snakes(exluding pythons and garter snakes). Also, why can't we bring cell phones? That trips me out if we have no way to communicate with friends on an island. This reminds me of "Mindhunters" the movie.

Hmmmm, no cell phones, stranded on an island, in the middle of nowhere, with 5 people with walkie talkies, only 1 way off the island, well 2 if you can swim extremely well. Didn't they just make a movie about a group of people getting invited to a party and it ends up errr a bit scarey? Anyone read the thread about the Alexiandra hotel on the Cali Forum?
Good luck with everything BobbyJoe, hope it works out for ya. |
