listening to parts of this. majority of it is definitely enjoyable. a couple tracks are a bit commercial sounding i guess. feels like i'm listening top 40 on the radio. perfect world scenario - multiroom venue with linue like this one in one room and lienup like blowout in the other everyone could party together and wander and enjoy a wide variety of genres |

personally, i really really really found out how much i dislike hardcore at lucky charms. like, i'm diverse when it comes to music, i can dig almost anything from death metal to bluegrass to folk to IDM to psytrance to hip hop...
but man. delta 9 really made me want to hide in a corner with some good headphones. it was just so boring yet intrusive & irritating. |

D9 has his own sytle. stuff from the ninties is fast and brutal. LOVE IT!! some of the stufff from the past couple years went away from taht style. like the releases from his label, psychotic(sp?)(label still around?) seems like he is getting back into his old ways with the speedboat and deviltimesnine releases. his set at luckycharms was very doomy. I enjoy it, being a hardcore fanatic and all, but i could definitely see people not enjoying it. I have learned -- if you are intrucing hardcore to someone for the first time, don't have them listen to delta 9. start with teh slower mainstream stuff. i have many times done that.. put on the disco inferno or alpha decay cd for someone and they give me the strangest look.. hah those are for diehard hardcore fans only really partyhardcore, mainstyle hardcore, mainstream hardcoe(whatever you wan to call it) is sooo much different. bouncy, energetic... just like anystyle, you can't base your judgment from one subgenre. give some of the very popular producers and djs a listen and i guarantee it will get you moving. it awakens that part of the brain. young people, who don't listen to much electronica, come to a party. maybe indulge in mood altering party favors, and hear some really hard shit. I can see how that wouldn't go so well for them. you notice that the majority of the people listening to hardcore are usually just drinking or sober? music that can give you a natural high and insane energy. so hardcorei'm gonna search for some older mixezs from the big names in europe anc post it for people to give a listen. something that is really easy to listen to |

it's a such a shame that the Crossroads is being used yet again... highly doubt i'll be returning to that location. last time, i was there was the first time i've been there since i had the seizure and was hospitalized. Not a good time at all... flashbacks hit me like what. Hopefully future parties will be at new locations or revisiting old locations from back in the day. now that would be something to look forward to.

which is 4th grade level logic at best. i still dont believe hardcore is half(or even a quarter) as diverse as breaks, but i dont wanna get too offtopic so thats another day lol Quote:

if this is the same dude that had a seizure at ROTLA, that was in a different part of the venue than we're using, if that matters at all...

![]() 1. he's a old schooler he knows 2. wasn't a drug seizure but yea i'd say this side oasis area is the best venue we've got at the moment given the size of chi's scene. it wont be too packed or too dead. just perfect. |

Lots of memories in that venue, both good and bad.
