Lisa Lashes, Bad Boy Bill and DJ Icey have played at countless raves all over the world. Not one of them is what I would call strictly a "club dj". The truth is that Lisa Lashes is one of the biggest names in hard house. Thats why it would draw my attention. If you want to see large headliners come to your city, you have to show support for the promoters that are willing to bring them there.
i wish i hit up the scene when they played at raves, i know theyve played at countless raves and i know damn well they are able to rock 1000s of peoples nights at once but nowadays they are too grown up to get down with the kiddy candy rave shit and im a nOOb and that all i want to rock out too
they are too grown up for a rave in sence that they are too good to be at a rave, getting booked at high profile clubs is where the moneys at, raves are alot more fun to dj at but your not going to make the most money at them, they have matured, they arent out too have the most fun anymore theyre out for the money, i have not matured and am not good enough to be at classy clubs, im at the time of my life where i need to go crazy, and at a rave is where i need to be

Well, DJs have to make a living like anyone else, and I think thats important to understand. These DJs will generally play where they are booked to play. Headline DJs, club and rave alike, are expensive.
I think you can expect the Lisa Lashes event to be a great party. If coming all this way to check out Life Science, why not check Lisa Lashes out too? It is not a club event. But it seems as though it will be marketed towards the club scene as well as ravers.
hmmm that sounds like a good idea, i never thought of going to 2 parties in the same night. you know how far away the 2 parties are going to be away from eachother?

While the exact address for Life Science is posted already, I don't think a venue was announced for Lisa Lashes yet. From what it sounds like though, there will be others doing just that...checking out both parties. I can't imagine the drive being too bad, they'll both be here in the Chicagoland area. If you have the cash to go to both, and will be ok to drive from one to the other than its not a bad idea. Especially if your coming from out of town..
Thank you for all of your thoughts on Life Science, I am in charge of the event and I would like to address some of the issues discussed here.
First and foremost, I have spoken with Orlando (Submerge101) from Source and April 29th was the only date they could get Lisa Lashes, there were never any desires between my company and Source to compete at all, we had both been planning our events without releasing any info and they just happened on the same date. I gaurantee both events will be extremely successful. As you probably noticed, Submerge is playing at Life Science so there are definately no ill-relations between our production companies. In addition I have been booked for my live P.A by Source in the past and they are great people to work with.
Secondly, I made security a big issue during my meetings with the venue, Pyramid. I voiced the concerns of many people that went to Winter Wonderland and we now have a contract that stipulates my security force will be the ones working the party itself to avoid any unpleasantness (the venue's security is used to working hip hop shows so I attribute that to the security problems of the last event). I have also met with the venue's security team and will have another meeting the day of the event to redress the issues that arose during Winter Wonderland. The venue also privately disclosed to me their own miscommunications with the last event that led to the last-minute problems with security, and those issues have been worked out in advance for Life Science.
Thirdly, Life Science is *gauranteed* to go from 9pm to 6am...this is in my contract so if the venue shuts us down early for whatever reason we will be able to throw a free event with the money from the lawsuit Also, all of our acts are 100% confirmed.
Last but not least, there is the ever subjective issue of *vibe* I am bringing in 2 massive sound rigs, including a NEXO-alpha system ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) as well as custom lighting/laser rig. We will also have 4 projector screens, 2 for each room, and I am personally programming the visuals for the screens. Of course, sound and lighting isn't everything...based on the promotions and presale ticket sales for this event we will have an extremely diverse crowd to celebrate both electronic music and new technology in general. This will be the first in a series of events Axon Lab is producing, and in the future we plan on integrating audience interaction with the overall environment (for example, accessable midi controllers that affect visualizations and lighting during the event).
Again, both Life Science and Insomnia will be kick ass events. For those coming out of town, I would be willing to work with Source to create a system where if you come to my party with a Lisa Lashes ticket you can get in for half-price or vice-versa, since in the big picture we are a small community and it would be in all of our interests to join forces.
