the only music that has ever sucked would be that of aqua and anything on the top 40 billboard charts..I don't care if you are a barbie girl or that your cadillac spills oil....music is all personal.

For me example I have another world outside of the "rave" scene I listen to punk and 80's and obviously 80's punk rock...I enjoy it because it is very poiltical and a forge through idea of conformity...not to mentionthe bass lines and guitar tracks rock...the lyrics are just another look into people and how they feel society works, I connect on a personal level. The same with trance, I am not saying I hate DNB, I am just sick of there being no trance at raves, trance does exactly what it is intended for....putting you in a trance, a state of happiness. This is used to stop thinking about all the shit that is really going on from our soldiers dying to keep you here to talk your shit...to schools kicking kids out of school for what they say on myspace...it's all bullshit. Music, ALL MUSIC, is a release to someone. Who are you to judge someone else's release, you are most likely reading this while listening to whatver new mariah carey or beyonce song is on the radio...not necessarily a bad thing but definitely not my style and many others...so unless you want to be criticized for your sheltered ignorant outlook on what really goes on respect other people's opions...remember that 1st amendment that states the right to free speech and freedom of opinion...so it's whatever...I will baaa next time I see you sheep....trance is not for etards...I am 100% drug free and have been for 3 years and I still love trance...think before you speak for people you do not know.

you know me DNB rocks but it would be nice to have variety every once in awhile...then when I feel like breakin or just chilling to some good beats it's nice to have....AK rocks the house...drowning can be played 24/7 and I would love it in a new way each and every time

Chicago is by far too jaded a city to have much if any trance at parties. nubile scenes outside metropolitan areas will have much more of it. because the average kid is less knowledgable and exprienced, or the scene is very young. It would suck if it happened anyway, no one would go.

Depends on the trance music....I like progressive.....and you can keep a 4/4 going no problem...cool breaks here and there...mix in a bit of house, a bit of techno...even a bit of DnB...and you have yourself a Plur'ed Pie.

I do however agree with you on the punk issue though, today's punk isn't punk at all it is a way for the preppy kids who shop at pac sun to fit in....anywho we will not get into that here I merely used my other choice in music to explain how music isn't just music to everyone, sometimes people relate to it on a personal level and they actually "hear" it. Vocal trance is like that for some, it is my drug, songs of happy times and pretty melodies put my on my own x trip...no drugs needed...

originally, trance was a psychadelic reduction of techno meant to trance out the listener, someone started writing epic uplifting trance down the line and everyone went die hard for it, blindly demanding trance anthems shoved down their throats. that sheep mentality and conscious-ness altering drugs allowed for producers to churn out tunes quicker, which reduced quality per tune, hence formulaic crap like modern epic trance.

you are talking about one specific genre of trance, if you knew about the rest you wouldn't be even debating it..vocal, deep and tech trance are the best forms...you are talking about the metocre version that progressed from acid and prgressive house, that is van buren and van dyke, oakenfold...the stuff that they play in the clubs. I am talking about the deep, tech and euro...the shit that sasha and digweed started. I agree that is has become more of a pop sound but if you listen to original trance from the 70's and 80's it is the same, just nowdays technology has allowed for better electronic sounds to be employed along with hardstyle beats...which in turn gives a DNB with vocal trance feel...like drowning by ak 1200...just an old school example...

and I still stand by my comment on it not being a fodder for etarded masses, the kids new to the scene will roll to anything, rap, pop and hip hop...yes they like the pop trance but I wasn't disputing that, you were discriminating against all trance in general and not all of it is bad...

vocal, deep and tech trance are the best forms

vocal is hardly a descripter, lots of music has vocals, so what?

tech trance is good stuff, like marco V or breeder, because they stick to more fluid psyched out templates.
