not even 5 months ago, the night before i got out of the navy and left my friends in washington. one of my best friends(he was like a brother to me also) hung himself on our aircraft carrier. i have atleast some familarity of what your going through right now. i was pretty fucked up for like a month or 2 after it happened. my head was spinning in circles literally. the pain lessens a little bit, but i'll never get anywhere close to coping with it. telling people who dont mind listening helps...its all about airing ur feelings out.

so if ur anything like me thats what u can expect. just try and take it easy for awhile(as far as doin shit that can potientially end up depressing). i would say only go out with ur best friends, others that were close to him. thats what i would've liked to have done but i was back here . i dont mean to say too much about my experience, but like you i'm still grieving too man, u take care.

Sorry to hear and hang in there.

I had a father like figure shoot himself on Halloween a few years back. He kicked his bad crack habit awhile back and got back into it and I don't think he wanted to handle going dry again....too sad and a loss of a good soul and a scar for his wife.

really sorry to hear that... ive lost quite a few friends the past couple years as well.. im sure most heard about joey flynn... i went to school with him and he was a good friend of mine too... i know it sucks.. the best thing to do is just remember the person and the great times

I know this is really late to be posting this but i recently joined RL and was looking through the threads and reading and this one caught my eye. In aug. of '04 my brother died and thats what got me into the scene because this scene became my family when everyone else in my actually family was trying to cope in their own way. I just want to let you know, even though i don't know you at all, that if you need anything, someone to talk to or anything that i am here.

That goes for everyone else in this thread who has lost someone so close like that because you expect to lose grandparents at some point and way way later in life parents but you don't really except to lose a sibling, or friend that is heathly and young. My brother was only 23 and it kills me to hear other people talk about these things cause i know the pain and it's a constant thing that sometimes it's too bad but other days is unbearable.
