haha, i tried "researching" raving before i hit up my first party too, and really all you learn about is stereotypes. You gotta hit em up to learn. Try and check out the lineups beforehand and check out any of the music you can find. Despite what you may hear music is the main focus of the party. I dont get why people who dont like the music show up. I mean You can get fucked up and dance anywhere.
I got a lot of friends who dont come just out of fear of the parties getting busted. Its an experience and it sucks ass, but iv never gotten in any real trouble from a bust. just cuts the night short. Also, i didn't understand hardcore at all till i hit up my first party, but man i listened and danced to it and just fed off all the energy goin around and it was fuckin sweet. 2nd only to the natrual high from goa/Psytrance , which does not get played nearly enough in the chicago scene god dammit. |

Iv always been able to sorta figure out what people are like by barely even talking to them and I noticed there weren't may that i ran across that i thought were actually ReaL muthafuckers. I went to a party my first time and it was like they took all the ReaL cool ass people and put them all into one room and they threw a bunch of lights, and crazy sounds in there with it. for the most party i met some of the coolest people i know at a party. |

I'm trying my hardest at the moment to try and find a ride, so far so bad. I may be able to just "borrow" my moms car, dammit it feels like I'm 17 again whenever I come back here.

Hmm. Well that's what I wanted to hear for the most part.
Thanks especially eyliusevil. The thing is, I want to know about the stereotypes. All of them. And here's why, I'm the girl who can get along with everyone. Literally I can be put in a group of strangers and find a way to mix in with them. I want to know what I need to do first. I don't believe in "Be your self" at first sight. I believe in be accepted then let lose. Because that's how I've always been. Make of it what you will. I think that I'm a kid at heart, I'd probably fit in best with the kandi kids. The girls trading bracelets, making out, and rolling all night long. But That's a part of me I've never let out before, I want to know what the night is like for everyone else. If anyone feels the same. To be honest my first thoughts of raving were "This is my escape." A totally different scene, experience, set of friends, style of music, and everything else. Now all I have to do is get in a group that I can go with and be safe with. |

If you can get along with anyone don't worry about the stereotypes at all, thats what divides us as humans in general
