I'm not gonna lie. I was disappointed by Moby's set last night. I guess I had higher expectations for a famous performer. He basically just pushed the play button and bobbed his head in order to look more busy.
Well at least I got my money's worth. It was free. So I can't complain really. |

he is a great performer... but you saw him do a dj set and not a full out stage show with a band

i had an absolute blast. moby tore that place apart. everybody left as soon as he was over at 1230 (which is super early by smartbar standards) because there was no way the next dj could compare.
but yes, live in a band would have been a completey different experience |

so disappointed i came late. my first time at smartbar, and i understand the place is open til 4am...? so i got there a bit after midnight to catch the last 10 minutes or so of moby ripping it up. i figured he'd be playing later, i guess i was wrong... the dj's after him were pretty tight tho, but i was bummed i (mostly) missed a rare chance to see such a well-known dj play a small place like smartbar.

some people on another board were saying he was playing a bunch of 90's rave tracks and the place was slammed
