This member is the original thread starter. happycore Countdown 06 Aftermath

I dont know about others but I had a frieking blast on Countdown 06, I admit it was hyped more than it should've but damn it was an awesome rave.

The venue was not exactly an oldschool warehouse but it was pretty damn close, the ppl were great and the music was loud, what else can you ask right?

It sucked getting shut down at 3 am, I would've stayed till sunrise.

LOL this was my first rave in Chicago so it was kinda special.
And Countdown 06 left a good impresion about Chicago's rave quality.

keep it that way

P.S.
Don't be shy and post what you thought of Countdown 06. Or whatever you wanna say lol.

Countdown was the bomb party. The venue was tight, and those chill rooms were all that. Give it up to those guys for knowing how to throw the real deal.
The music was happen all the way. I don't know who that was on the mic upstairs laying down those rhymes over the jungle, but that was definitely hardcore. The small room's vibe was thick; every time I walked threw there I just had to dance.
Gettin busted by the cops like old school days made it even more underground...

Peace

Man I loved everyone at that party - just such a tight night.
Besides a few bad vibes off drunks downstairs this party was amazing.

Pictures!?

that was very tight... enjoyed myself throughly
even my non-raver girl who came to check it out had a great time and would deffinately go to another.

but yeah, right before bust time the drunks downstairs were killin the vibe. might've been a part of the reason it busted. /shrug

Brass your definately coming out with us to monster

I enjoyed getting to meet everyone and to know you all just as much as the party itself -

You guys are one of, if not the nicest group of people i've ever met
I didn't take enough down time to chill and just cuddle in a corner with the rest of you guys last night - I'll definately work on that for next time

MONSTER!!!!!!!!! I can't wait.

I'm glad to hear you all had a great time last night. Did you guys all leave when it got busted? There were some people over at midwestravers that said they stuck around and partyed til 5.

Me and our group tore up our local club!! No joking around!! The only complaint I had was that there was too much hip hop.

Did anyone take pictures from countdown??

C.

i had shit load of fun at countdown. let me start with the many positives:

1) venue. come on, did i not say it would be sick? that was one of the coolest venue's ive been too. that tiny second room was straight up banging. for a while that place was packed inch to inch with people dancing. the chill out rooms were packed because they had couches and were good spots to hang out. letting us in the back like that was hardcore and definitely took me back.

2) upstairs. you kidding me? im a house head but the jungle room was really good. the music was going off, everybody was getting down on the dance floor, and that MC was definitely laying it down. the cuddle puddles were appropriate and to the back corner of the room away from the dance floor. i liked the vibe up there....

3) bar. $3 beers? you kidding me. i was in a different planet. i did spill beer on my argyle sweater a few times though lol. casualty of fuckedupness.

4) security. hahahahahha. there was NONE! a TFU member/associate did the most minimal pat-down to the men humanly possibly. once in, there wasnt security in sight. it was fucking great. smoking joints if you wanted to without any hassel.

5) music. wow for a party with alot of up and coming underground talent, i sure heard some really good stuff. it was the full spectrum of music, from house and DNB to techo.

6) RL'ers. you guys made my night. jill you are a saint for everything you did last night. same goes to phoenix, who is one cool-ass guy and spent a shit load of money making sure everyone had a good time (which we did). techno1 was good getting a chance to talk to you (those puma shoes are ill). tommyguns definitely glad we got to meet, definitely a down to earth guy. we really went the distance for countdown (seeing as im still awake at sunday 6:10). ahhh yess, the wonders of adderall. anyways RL's preparty was more fun than i ever thought it could be and the afterparty was cool too (though that group was half non-RL'ers).

7) speaking of adderall, big shout out to the homework drug for giving me MAD energy. i was able to keep dancing for extended periods but i was alsoo able to get my step on at a faster tempo and really get down to the techy sounds.

8) seeing my boy get a chance to go on 4 tables with frankie vega. when he took his set deeper and slower into house territory i was feeling it. some tech-house is really good if done right. bass shaking!

9) but again im house 4 life and whoever was bumping that very good house in the little room had about 20 people getting their groove on. very glad i went.

my one negative is no lazers.
