Chicago raves in general

Hey guys - I'm moving to the Chicago area next fall (Northwestern University) for my first year of college. I'm into raves, and wondered what the Chicago rave scene was like. I'm curious about things like locations, amounts of raves, etc.

Thanks for the help! I'm hoping there will be some great raves and djs to check out.

Raves kinda dead. *shrugs*

Chicago parties are fun, but attendance is low. Now I'm not saying that in order to have a good party there has to be a shitload of people, but I'd assume if your thinking that since Chicago is a big city the parties are big too.

Dj's who I like in Chicago:
Kiddo-Techno
Decimal-Techno
No Affiliation Crew- Techno
Grey People- Techno *cough* *cough* *cough*
Bai-ee-Acid House
Elekid- Hard house/Core
Idiom- Hardcore

There are a lot more than that, it all depends on your preferance. I personally really like techno.

Where are you from? If you're from an area where there is nothing/no rave scene what so ever, then you'll think that the scene here is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you're from an area such as California, then you're in for a major disappointment.

I personally think the scene here is struggling to keep what we have going with whoever still goes. Like anywhere else, there is the fair share of drama which, imo, is part of why the scene here is held back.

Now like Alex said, it all boils down to what kind of electronic music you like. If you're a House or Drum & Bass fan, well then I couldn't think of a better place for you to be. If you're into anything such as Trance, Breaks, Techno, and Electro, then the club scene in Chicago is where you'll probably end up frequenting. If you're a Hardcore/UK Hardcore fan, then you might enjoy some of the smaller events around here. If you're a PsyTrance fan, then you will most certainly enjoy the PsyTrance events that get thrown around Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Very fun and friendly events.

Yea it would be really nice to know where some down lo venues r going down at. I just recently been getting into the rave scene and my only resource is my friend Xenzaka/kyle or ravelinks. Which sux because u have to think with a big city like chicago i would assume there would be super word of mouth only parties.

All of these $60 campout parties are really cuttting my budget. i mean i love the scene and everybody, but im not exactly rich either.

I just wish i knew where to find some lo pro good vibe true underground party from some kids (or adults whoever) who are just looking to have a great time!!

well if u really want word-of-mouth parties, most of them wont be listed on here. the simple solotion is to go out to the parties listed on here and meet people. make friends. dont spend the whole night etarded out in a cuddle puddle(not saying this is you, just in general) theres lots of djs and small get togethers that happen in the city but you usually only hear about them if you know someone at that party. that being said i like to meet n chill with as many people as i possibly can

and yea ur in trouble if your only contact is kyle cause that fool barely comes out anyways lol.

Yea i bet there is all types of those. the best part is there is parties out there from a totaly different set of people, people we have never seen before.

You can only imagine whats out there right now.
