![]() if you throw a good quality event, the people will come, and have a damn good time, and bring more of their friends for the next party, in the long term this is the best business strategy, and even if they dont bring their friends next time, fuck it they had a good time. mission accomplished. you lose money yes but thats really nothing new around the scene here. this is not a lose situation in my eyes, if people beyond a doubt had a good time and show their appreciation. but if you throw a shitty party, but break even cause the few people who came paid more than they should've, theres a high number of dis-satisfied customers who probably wont show up to the next 1-3 events just cause of the shitty time they had(i'm not talking about any one party or company here by the way). then you just lost out a whole lot more than you would've had in the long term. on money AND respect. and respect is 10x harder to get back than money. so 350 you say....you gotta ask yourself why is that? theres alot more ravers than that in chicago and the midwest(a whole lot). why is that number so small? why were the numbers larger last year? its because quality events haven't been happening. and alot of those 1000 ravers that attended wonderland massive a couple years ago got bored of the same ol shit that followed. the only way that chicago as a scene are going to raise above this 350 is to throw quality events that no one can complain about and will want to bring their friends into. something they can be proud of. otherwise its going to go back to how it was in 2005 with attendance being in the 1-200's and a party only every couple months, whats that gonna lead to, $50 presales? and fyi i'm entirely confident that light it up is going to exceed 350, not tryin to brag/talk shit but we've sold alot of presales =] |

Look: ![]() And they'll sell out their presales at 70 a pop. Moral of the story: Chicago prices can't be compared to Cali prices. The events/festivals are on two completely different levels. |

all good points Tommy
maybe people being pissed can be a positive thing. Revolutions are never started when things are going well... I really miss the masses of kandi kids and the couple hundred asian people who would be in large groups at parties before. seems like people are just feeling meh about everything. even with pretty good lineups recently, its sad to see the turnout. wen it shoudl be so much more. but if peopele, who are iffy on goign to a party, read all this; most likely they will not take te chance. oh well gonna go get krunk. tis spring break ![]() |

but i think source had the right idea with that jingle bass afterhours, it'd be nice if after all the legal events we had there was some small scale event at a underground spot we could all go to to party. like 2-5 bux to get in and just have some tables and a speaker setup. if it gets busted whatever, its 5-8am anyways lol. |
