Working & living right between Chicago and Milwaukee in the industrial spread of Kenosha, WI--a city where club nightlife barely exists--he has helped breathe life into this small city near the Illinois-Wisconsin border. Most Fridays and Saturdays you'll find him playing at some party, club or bar all over Wisconsin. Though he is a breakbeat DJ first & foremost, he is versatile within many styles and has been known to drop classics & blur the lines of those genres in his sets. Inspired by his older brother's advanced knowledge of alternative music, Mario started to pick up wax copies of his favorite tracks. In time he was compiling them on mixtapes and practicing blending those tracks. After years of being a bedroom DJ, playing a few parties here and there, he first gained real-life experience as a DJ when he worked for a mobile DJ company for a year. Quickly frustrated with the limitations imposed on him in that situation, he decided to start his own - though never losing sight of his real passion for underground dance music. As his mixing skills developed and he made a progression through many styles of dance music, he finally landed smack dab in the middle of breakbeat culture. Amongst his DJ peers he is regarded as an electronic music history aficionado, a gear specialist, audio professional, and above all, a breakbeat technician. He is also one of the most reliable people you will find in the industry. Why? Because he's here for the music. He gets off on people dancing to his music. Reading a crowd is a reassured notch under his belt. He's worked every kind of gig, and that kind of experience is hard to come by, and gives him that much more ability to rock that crowd. He did a year sneaking Underworld, Fatboy Slim, and Moby tracks between classic rock, blues and modern rock favorites at a biker bar in Milwaukee. On the other end of the spectrum he helped represent Milwaukee industrial/breakbeat collective Shiverhead at an Astralwerks showcase for the Unknownwerks compilation that was released in1999 at Smartbar in Chicago. He's done improvised jazz jams live, jammed with blues musicians, and made his way into a collective of musicians called Nagasaki Gold for a short stint. The one thing that remains consistent with his 10 year career as a DJ, is his unwillingness to stop - he always progresses, gains experience, and keeps moving forward. In 2004 he dreamed up the concept of the Better Breakbeat Bureau. That is his home now. Not ever giving it a framework to exist in, his crew/production outfit has gone from idea to integral part of the midwest dance community in a very short time. Though it is his baby, he has stepped back and let it take a life of its own, ever-growing into avenues he couldn't have imagined.
