Lansing Area??

I just moved to the Lansing area..is there anyone even remotely near here?? It be great to meet some people in the electronic scene..so far my new friends here have kind of just laughed at the idea of listening to any kind of electronic music! <--they look like that! ha ha i luv these smilies...

hey rot I'm from the lansing area and I try to get down with some good music-live or not-every weekend.
It seems like to see anybody worthwhile you need to go 40 miles in any direction though

Both of you guys should come down to Grand Rapids. Its not that far from Lansing.

I live in East Lansing. About once a month a fraternity will have a "rave" party with a pretty good DJ, but it is anything but a rave. It is definitely more like a frat party with good music. It's probably not the scene you're looking for, but it's fun to go and dance and hit on some frat boys gfs. If one were to go to these "raves," I would advise against looking for/soliciting anything that may be illegal.

Here is the website and myspace for the dj that usually plays these parties and also some clubs in the area. They will post any events that they are playing in the EL/Lansing area.

Its not that far but its a fair distance! I drove up there the other weekend for a roller derby game; I've realized I'm gonna have to travel to be around the things I enjoy! Let me know when though and maybe this other person from Lansing and I can road trip it over!

yeah man... GR seems to have a little more to do on the weekends than Lansing.. depending on what youre interested in.. the club scene here is alright.. they're all within walking distance of one another.. and the atmosphere overall is pretty decent.. no good techno tho.. mostly mainstream and some euro..

Hey, I'm in the Lansing area also, and I'm not familiar with any parties within our immediate vicinity. I've never checked out GR before. In fact, I'm kinda new to the whole thing and I've only been out west in So-Cal.

Are there ever any big parties out this way? I'm willing to travel and I can take people with me.

You my friend need to go to Detroit. Always something going on in the D. And every couple months there is usually a larger party.
