D-town events?

I am brand new to this forum, but by no means new to the scene. I have just been retired...for about 5 or 6 years. I got out when the scene went to shit. Lately have been feeling like testing the waters again, but don't really know where to start. I am not too excited about attending some commercial event. I'm not just looking for info on upcoming events tho. I would rather find good contacts, and get some info on what the scene is like now and any comments on recent events. Any input would be nice. the parties i attended where in places like mack and bellevue, eastown theatre, the whore house, chop shop, bagley optical, and the firehouse to name a few. anything like that still go down?

there are few events like the old theater days, the next two i can think of are at berts warehouse sat jan13 be cool 2 and jan27th masters of the universe,is my show i think i can produce what u r looking for

Nice. I am experienced enough to know that the only correct way to find what i might be looking for is to actually get out and meet some people and get some info. Would be stupid to hit up a good party that i found on the web. So i am trying to make it to the event on the 27th...if i can. it's just so strange to not recognize any local dj's in the scene, considering i was a big time partier and small time dj myself. i just don't want to party with a bunch of drunks. they're not much fun. haha.

im sorry.. how ever you look at it those days are long gone. but the closest events to what you are looking for will be the ones that king james stated above.. the only real big difference is that they now serve alcohol at the events now. im sorry that just brings a different atmosphere to the party.

i figured that would happen. I know that there has gotta be some stuff that nobody knows about. that's what makes them underground. the scene always recylcles itself. i've never been to one party that i saw on the web in my life anyway. So i know it's not the place to find them just the place to start. I don't care if there is 100-200 people at it. those are the most fun anyway. appreciate your input though, that's all i'm really in search of right now.

i know what you are talking about.. try some other sites like beattechnicians.com or detroitluv.com..

but some of the old promoters are trying to make a come back. Dubtech just had a reuion party. And they are throwing another event sometime next year.BHP productions is have a party early next year.

the day and age of big underground parties are over. but there are some loft parties with a 100 people or so that you have to now people. But the day and age of the gang squad busting your party scared alot of people.

hazard s still does things.. but yeah its hard when everyone moves outof state and such.. Wilhelm K lives in NY now. And CDX lives in the up somewhere.

That's no biggie. I had the most fun at the intimate parties where it's like a small family. thats what i had in mind. After going to Whistle 2 in philly with 10,000+ peeps i didn't feel the need for a big crowd anymore.

yeah its hard to stay away. the reason they are coming back is that the scene is just now picking up. but now a days promoters are throwing events in legal venues.. hence the alcohol..

yup.. but they lost Beau Gangnier aka DJ Kandyman.. he died this year.

yeah they are around you just have to know the right people. like i said they are mostly in lofts downtown.
