I think it'd be good to see some posts about parties that are actually IN Ohio...For christs sake people. Other states have their own boards on ravelinks. Why can't the raves posted here be only for the state designated?

It doesn't really make me that mad, because I understand that sometimes people from Ohio would have no problem with leaving state for a weekend to go to a party, but if you want to do that can't you just check the boards for the states you plan on visiting?

It's just a little disturbing to go into the "Ohio rave discussion" section and see that 70% of the threads posted are for raves in fucking Indiana or Kentucky.

I dunno, I just like to know about good parties near Ohio, but it's mostly just a matter of preference...?

well i dont think everyone just chooses to ignore ohio, obviously if people are talking about other states, its because either they live in those states, or the partys are in those states.

Seriously man get over it, you must not be true to the rave scene. Cause if you were then you would know it all about people meeting and connecting on a vibe no matter where your from that also includes a web paged designed for people to post information that might lead you to the best time of your life. Ohio is a state but not by itself because it makes up part of the U.S called the Ohio Valley that includes other states like Indiana and Kentucky. So maybe instead of this room being called the Ohio Rave discussion maybe we should work on changing it to the Ohio Valley Rave Discussion. Come on man lets just all be part of something thats about more then just one state. Seriously we all need to enjoy this because it might not be here for ever, ecspecially if the goverment has its way with the no electronic movement act that its been trying to pass over the past few years!

Although I've never been to a rave, I am using this forum as a place to meet friends and, also, To find what I think would be the best rave to go to for my first time.
I am not above driving a reasonable distance (upto 300 miles) for such an awesome experience. However, the first place I look as soon as I get on the boards is here in the Ohio section to see what is going on in the "area".
I wish there were more events in Ohio, or maybe there are, but they are just not getting posted, but I am happy that other states near ours do post such opportunities. I just don't like when there are multiple posts of flyers for out of town events.

i think traveling is part of the fun...maybe its just me, but i've been all over the east cost for this shit, from FL to Philadelphia...and its out to Cali i go this summer. There are actually a good number of parties to attend in the Tri State area of Indiana, Ohio and KY.....you just gotta look and be dedicated this isn't a scene that gets handed to you like going to a concert on the weekend. RAVE=UNDERGROUND....or at least semi underground anymore

Rave=Underground. I think that parties are not really underground anymore. When I first started going to parties they were more underground than now. I do wish that the Dayton scene would make a comeback though. I used to go to parties every single weekend in Ohio for the longest time---sometimes on Friday and Saturday night both. What has happened to the Ohio scene? Stupid laws about no dancing after 2:30am?

Its a little thing called law enforcement. They didnt have fun when they were kids so why should they let us. The ohio partys are slowly fading out because of the law enforcement, the need of permits, and noise complaints. Thats just the way i feel, and what i have seen.

Okay, first off to the point of the thread.
I think that parties and events that are not in the state of ohio should not be in this thread, just my opinion, even though I'm guilty of posting my parties in other states' forums, mainly due to them not getting much support in Ohio.

Also on related note. I believe that parties can no longer be "underground" The police are very aware of what happens at raves. Now with that said, we all know that the police don't necessarily have to have a reason to shut a party down. And personally, I'm not a big fan of underground, and renegade parties. I'm getting old, I have two kids, a wife and lots of bills. I'd rather go someplace I know is legal, that's going to have bathrooms, with ventilation, and a bar.
Now with all that said, I think people need to start supporting what scene we have. We may be low on parties but if you look around there are still alot of great things happening, and until everyone starts supporting the scene we have, it will never grow.
so it is up to you.
