Re: What am i missing out on not going to raves
Raves truly are life changing experiences. Ravers come from all different lifestyles and places with a common goal of having a good time. Yes, drugs are often involved but there are many sober ravers out there. Your every sense is heightened at a rave - you hear great music (for the most part), you see a myriad of lights not only from the ceilng and stage but also from people who avidly practice with glowsticks, LEDs, etc. People are friendly and very united. So many strangers will come up to and be friendlier than people you've known before. Giving people massages is totally accepted too. People always give others candy, gum, water, etc. whatever to make ur experience that much better. Ravers have a common mindset on what it takes to have a good time. I've gotten free rolls at a rave too! No one is going to judge you at a rave. Everyone is there to have a good time and leave drama and problems at the door. The rave scene has turned me from a self-centered materialist with a tendency to judge people into a kind, generous, loving person who appreciates the small things in life. The vibes that ravers bring with them is what drives our scene, as small as it may be is it strong. You'll definately feel it. As far as teh smell... well it smells lke shit a lot of the times at raves hahah ppl r sweating from dancing for hours and some newbies who can't handle their shit puke... but hey once ur their that just adds to the general experience
I may be sounding like an idealist but generally that has been my experience at raves. I went to IAATM3 which was my most recent rave with my friends from college who brought a few people from their hometowns. My girlfriend of 2 years and I got into a fight because apparently she wasn't having a good time, didn't like the music, and slapped me in front of my friends for whatever reason. I didn't let it get to me though (perhaps rolling 5 deep helped though lol). People saw what happened and offered their sympathies and all I could say is PARTY ON!! I felt at home where I was even though I only knew a fraction of the people that were there. My girlfriend and I broke up the next day after I realized she stole shit from me. I don't care though. She couldn't steal my fond memories of one of the best times I've had in my life.
Go to raves man... you'll meet some of the most friendly people on the planet and you'd be suprised at how much empathy swims in the air.
As far as the psychedelics - drop some doses n go to a rave with a lot of visualizers... be careful though u might spend hours looking at them like I have before...
P.L.U.R. To All!!!
