I've set up an IRC chat for Ohio raves...

I have set up a channel for promotion of parties, discussion of the Ohio (and midwest I might add) raves, and just general discussion of...Whatever comes up. You'll need an IRC client to join up to the channel, if you don't have one, a good free one is Hydrairc. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Read the help files if you need extra information on how to connect to the channel.

Channel:#raveohio

There is no javaclient for this chat, or any internet applet for this channel. If anyone wants to set one up and link it to this thread, so be it, but I am not going to take the time to do it. Mostly because I'm not smart enough to go look for a java applet and then set it up...

Anyhow, I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to go and talk to ravelinks members, as well as hear about parties in real time rather than just on the boards.

Join up and have fun. Any questions or concerns then send me an IM or something.

EDIT: Ok, I found a javaclient for slashnet servers: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Click, go there, let the applet load. Then just type in the bar /join #raveohio to join up with the chat. From there I can guide you into various specifics (how to change your nickname and such.)

No need to deal with complicated clients now, I've found an alternative for those who don't have one already (and you firestarta, just use this webclient.)

i think this is a really good idea....i downloaded the thing.....and i have no idea how to work the program at all, so if you can help me please do so! PLUR

Sorry for the late reply. Ok, I usually don't use hydrairc, but look around for a "connect to server" or "connect to" button or menu. If you find one that says add new connection then just use that. I'm pretty sure in hydrairc you can just go up and click connect to server and a server list will pop up. There should be a little bar that says "irc://" and then a dialog box. After "irc://" type in "slashnet.org" then click connect. Then, in the server window, type in "/join #raveohio"

And you're in. If you need further instructions then AIM, yahoo, or msn me.

EDIT:Just use the link for the javaclient that I posted above rather than hydrairc. Hydra is a confusing program for a beginner to irc.

Follow the instructions I have for the javaclient on the link I posted and you'll be fine.
