THE SURROGATE BAND(Pink Floyd Tribute Band)
With Pink Floyd absent in the live music scene, five musicians from Michigan have risen to fill the void. They joined forces in 2003 to form The Surrogate Band, America’s Most Authentic Pink Floyd Tribute. The Surrogate Band is not the only group inspired enough to do this kind of tribute project. Far from it! What does set them apart is the amazing detail with which they perform the music. Guitar tones, drum fills, vocal harmonies, keyboard layers, female backup singers, and impeccably recreated sound effects: all of these are intensely studied and rehearsed in order to bring the listener exactly what they came to hear.They will be performing a fullscale version of the The Wall stage show with wall coming down at the end. No Pink Floyd fan wants to miss this!

There will be a $1000 dollar cash prize for the winning crew. The winner will also go to Germany for the finals in August. Each crew must consist of 3-7 members. The Freedom Festival will also be hosting the following the activites throughout the holiday weekend:

* We will have a HUGE camping area, so bring your tents.

* We will be creating a village of bouncy castles to relax in.

* A HUGE professionally crafted fireworks display.

* Stiltwalkers and Fire eaters by The Grimaldi Circus and The High Jinks performance groups.

*A “HALO” x-box competition on a huge display screen.

*The Flow Skatepark will be contstructing a mini halfpipe for a skateboard exhibition featuring the best in local and national skaters.

* A DJ Art gallery featuring artwork by some of the festival performers including T-1000, COREROC,SPARROW, DJ RAIZE,SEEK plus many more.

*A Information village featuring local and national organizations such as A.C.L.U., Salvation Army, Red Cross, and many more

*A Vending village featuring clothing companies such as Mama, Ablist, and Stuntz. We will also have a wide variety of food and beverage carts to chose from.

*A capoeira circle performance hosted by ELUNA

*A free open pit barbecue in the afternoon.

* A huge free fruit tray will be brought out at sunrise for all the weary dancers.

Things to bring: water, sunscreen, hats, lawn chairs, tents, camping equipment, things to share, hugs, smiles.

Things not to bring: Weapons, drugs, alcohol, markers, bad attitudes, fireworks, and or anything you know you shouldn’t bring.

Our fireworks will be produced by Pyrotechnico of ohio.These are the same folks who do RED,WHITE,& BOOM in columbus every year.A full 30 minute show with a 10 minute grand finale!Be prepared.We have also upgraded our laser wattage from 12 to 16 watts a full color power!
