I just moved to Columbus and went to Afterlife for a welcoming party. Wasn't much of a welcoming party. It was more like a get the fuck out party! Dont get me wrong, The party was awesome til it got shut down. When the cops came I was just starting to get my groove on. I don't go out til 11 or 12 oclock and I like to my freak on til 6 in the mooornin. I waited 2 months for this party and only got 2 hours of fun out. Cops shut it down at 2. That kiddie shit. The cops treated us all like we were a bunch of little kids and it was past our bed time. I'm a big boy and I don't like being told to stop partying at 2 in the morning. Afterlife just didnt cut it for me, it didn't get the job done. The next best rave Iv'e heard of is Defcon 5 in Philly with DJs such as Nigel Richards and Venom on Dec. 3, but thats an 8 hour drive! I'm wondering if any of you party people know of any good action going on closer to home. And will calm my nerves from Afterlife. I moved down here with a few DJs that can definately keep a party going on til 6 in the morning. We're looking to meet some party people and party without interruption. Because of the cops AFterlife was not a good first impression of wwhat Columbus is about. I know Columbus is better than this and I'd like some of you to prove it to us. I met a lot of bad ass kids at the rave. But since there aren't any more raves going on in Columbus for a looong time, This is the only way I know how to meet any more of you. there are other events going on in the midwest that won't be an 8 hour drive.....will any of them be a good as Afterlife would have been if it could have stayed open till 6:00am i dunno. But there are some that are worth checking out. So i shall now use your post to list various parties in the next couple months.

Hey SuperBalls, sorry you didn't have a good time at Afterlife. That was my first party in like 3yrs. and I went by myself. I walked around for the majority of the time I was there. Eventually I ran into some peeps from back in the day. I know that Columbus has had some fu#$in awesome parties in the past. Don't let this one make ya think that the Columbus scene isn't good anymore. Sometimes parties get shut down---we just have to deal with it---and hopes that the next party will be the shit.

I know Clevelands scene is dying. I went to Planet of the drums with Dieselboy. hardly anyone was there. everyone I talked to said it just isn't what it used to be. Went to Tonka 4. same thing. At Afterlife I regained my faith that there was still a rave scene in Ohio and that, but the cops. Ive heard of all this new anti rave legislation bullshit. I'm just worried I got into the scene too late.

I'm not too sure if you got into the scene too late or not. I almost feel as though when I got into the scene back in 1999---it was starting to die out. I've heard of some new law about No dancing after 2:30am. Don't know if it's true or not. But hey, if ya wanna go to parties--then party on man! Party as much as you can until you get sick of it.
