Yo homeboy dont mean to hate on you but if you need to travel overseas to get good drugs, well there may be a few reasons.

1. you dont know the right people
2. Dont know what you look like but being 45 you may come across as a narc
3. you arent looking in the right places
4. connections. If you dont got em you dont got em.

There is a huge market still for LSD. I dont do it. DOnt like psychadelics in general, dont like the mind fuck. I do know a shit ton of kids who are still fucking with it and say it is as strong as it was in the 80's and 90's (you arent much older than they are).

PS there are still some insane parties. They are rare but they do happen. I was going out before the second change to the scene came and trust that there are parties that are as insane. Its just different when you arent on drugs, you are older and get more tired more easily, and if you are unable to still lose yourself in the music and allow the party to be a way to escape a mundane reality than you forgot what the whole shit was about. People like X raver who all they did was drugs back when will never get the vibe unless they are taking drugs. I think he and many of the other "old skool" heads forget that drugs enhance things and without the experience is very very different.
Its funny because this is the only board where seemingly more people attribute experiences at parties to drugs rather than to the music itself. And that was why you shouldve been there. The music.

Your 100% right and we know it. For some reason people around here are in denial. They are also retarded and bring up storm raves when that is not what we are talking about at all. Again, shit has not changed it is gone completly. There is not a scene, vibe at all in NYC. Dead its not me or us its the shit being thrown. Its not a change its an extention of raves. Sorry but its a fact and you know it. So throw a fucking rave at a venue and a line up and then you can talk. Right now there is nothing in sight.

What messes with my head is - I have met lots of people on 'the boards' who verify exactly what you say above.

Yet in the real world - I know nearly 10 'serious' suppliers. One of them has been a DJ for years.
EVERY time I ask these guys in the real world about blotter - they all say exactly the opposite! "Damn - I have not seen that stuff in years!"

I don't want to make this post about drugs - I just need to vent a sec. and ask you to understand how my reality is very different.

People respond to drugs very differently. You say LSD gives you a 'mind fuck' that you do not like. This is not every one's experience. LSD has NEVER been a negative experience for me.

Now - I shit you not - 3 tokes of MJ gives me profound tactile hallucinations, brain scrambling, debilitating disassociation and severe paranoia.

Allow me just one more subjective assertion?
I have seen the market for and popularity of LSD go through several cycles.

For me, access to acid was ubiquitous in the early '80s (the only times I ever used it). For a brief period - a few years later? It VANISHED. It was totally out of style... (no I don't remember exact dates - at those times - I had no yearning for it.) Sure enough it had a MAJOR resurgence in popularity. It was everywhere and 'in your face'. Since that resurgence ended several years ago? I have known NO ONE with ANY access.

Now, having bitched - it is important to put my lack of experiences in perspective.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A RAVE - EVER!
You should also know that I missed festivals from 'no-nukes' through 'palozza' BS!

I WAS at the Central Park Simon / Garfunkel reunion but NEVER saw the Grateful Dead live. I was too young to attend Woodstock - but the music - and the spirit in engraved in my soul.

So what do I know about 'raves'?
I claim to know NOTHING.

However - I do know MUCH about the ancient rituals of sleep deprivation, dancing all night under the moon, communal trance, rhythmic music, repetitive lights, and surrenduring to the experience!
Trust me brother - I get the 'vibe' - WITHOUT needing drugs.

I came to this board to learn about 'the scene'.
Why?
I FINALLY wanted to experience this 'movement' for myself.

It seems I am about 20 years late!

And - YES - if LSD is available all the better. I would pocket it for a religious experience. I would NOT f--k up my rave experience with drugs!

Exactly, I mean like i said, i am not too old to where i was around when limelight was re-done, BUT I have gone there when the scene was in full swing and that venue was a very nice one for the city. I didnt go to 3542352 million parties, but the select parties i went to, did have a profound effect on the outlook for day from then and days of now. pretty much, as long as the new crews that think they know, dont come up to me and say "mines better then yours" so-to-speak, then i dont have a problem, BUT i dont have any problems putting new skool raver kiddies in there place lol.. ill jsut plop a stack of flyers from the early 90's on there lap and point to the line ups and be like"Now, ya see here... those names... gave your names... something to try and live up to"

1st of all Peck knows nothing about drugs,raves or the NYC scene. So dont bother. And yeah these newschool kids think 200 people are enough for a rave. Anyone knows you need mad heads, pumping beats for a rave. You cant do it with 200 people in a basement. Fucking retards. o believe me im far from against anyone on this forum unless they get in my face about something... haha yeh i have lived a hectic life trying to be at as many amazing places to party as i could when i did havethe time to do that...i have been working on making my future positive so it has been a few years since i partied as hard as i did ... id love to go to ibiza or some other mediteranian area and party to some really nice put togehter progressive trance and relax at a beach haha maybe one day...

X-Raver: Although I don't go to parties anymore either, so I can't really say much about the new kids, I do check them out sometimes and I know what you are talking about-- the venues were sick-- front street, amazura, asbury park convention center, roseland, damn even the tunnel-- but there isn't anything like this in ny now. oh well, thanks for the nostalgia. And I can't believe you even mentioned that Rose Ballroom in Brooklyn.. Awesome. There really aren't any venues like this anymore. One of my first raves was at a PACKED Randall's Island-- 95 or so.

Im not gonna aruge with you Loll but I dont really get it. Where did these venues go? Cali? Rose castle is still there it has not blown up(yet...damn arabs). Roseland was my favoriate and thats still there Amazura another great one still there. Its just these retard promoters have no clue or $$ to get them. Thats my point. They are still there its just for some reasons partys are not. And these wanna be promoters on here (Yale) need to explain why there not used. People just talk shit and claim raves now are fine. I have not gone out eaither for the same reason as any NYC raver NOTHING IS WORTH OUR WHILE. Get a venue and more then 1 fucking dj and I am sure we all will be there. If there was a party at the Roseland in a month I would be the 1st to buy my ticket. Fuckin do it!!
