Actually, I am a 26 year old College Grad who still has a good time when I go out, no matter where I am. I guess it's just me. Call me retarded, but I can have a great time in my living room. |

I was around at the peak of all this here. I must say it has changed, and I don't really go out much anymore. Just a few events like WEMF, DEMF/Movement, etc. Very few events in the NYC area, if any. This is mostly because I am getting older though. Then again, the events I do go to now a days are much better than anything I have ever been to around here anyway. The people are just nicer. I generally keep these things to myself though and do go on message boards complaining about them and blaming others for the way I feel.

And the retard below who thinks that raves are better now then years ago is a liar and never went out in NYC. Or was to much of a bitch and probably got his ass kicked or something like that. I know everyone is intitled to their own opinions but to say that shit is better now then 1990 is a fucking liar and is 16 years old or a little bitch one of the two. |

I see you jump at any chance to flame that you can find. Maybe if you read closer you would see that I don't really go to nyc events. I was talking about things like WEMF and DEMF where I have a better time than I ever did in nyc.

Jeeez X raver. Calm down. I haven't called you any names... Just face the facts. Not everyone in the world agrees with you. It doesn't warrant flaming or such hostility.
I joined ravelinks to share ideas, opinions, and debate them when necessary. I didn't expect such a personal attack from a member whom I've never met and has never met me. You can get your point across easier if you just stop flaming everyone. I mean, you've even flamed the people who've agreed with you! Think about it man. Wouldn't you find it easier to chat with someone who was well spoken and agreeable? I'm not saying you have to agree with EVERYONE's opinion. I'm saying that you would be received better by people of opposition if you went about it a little more maturely. And I'm not a retard. I did very well throughout my entire educational career. That is all. |

Holy shit X...you still have people on this thread playing your game. Well done. I haven't dropped by in a while, but I see nothing has changed. Funny shit man......funny.
Being that I now live near Denver, CO., I have to say there are still fun parties going on out here. When I left NYC in 2005, and atleast 6 or 7 years before, I had no inclination to venture out to a party because they were so bad..........nothing but a bunch of wannabe ravers standing around loooking at each other with no clue on what to do next. Such a shame. Honestly, I think the local gov. is to blame. Before they knew what was up, the hardcore would party in some of the best spots in the city-------Roseland, Manhatten Center, Randol's Island, Club Vinyl, Caffiene in LI, the Full Moon parties, etc...---------this happened because the promoters throwin the parties sold ton of X, dust, acid, & k which allowed them to afford these places. Since the crackdown by the mayor and the Crackhouse laws, the true underground went deep again and what was left was an empty shell and pipe dreams.... Sad, but true. Thank God it's not like that all over this country. For the newest breaks and funky techno from the UK mixed by yours truly, as well as my first track released on Double Dipped, check out ............ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] "Funky Monkey" & "Percussive Thinking Edit" are the 2 newest sets up and "Nexus" is the track. Enjoy them or not----all comments are greatly appreciated............ |

your f'in bitter and u sound mad dated. ha. I went to all the monkey parties in the mid-to late 90's, april fools, the whistles, all that shit, and the only thing thats different between today and then is the people. All YOUR boys are locked up or dead! Go to rA, ravers anonymous and talk about how things have changed, and its never going to be the same because it ain't. its the nature of the beast called time. I went out recently, and its been a hot min.,and it was good to see people just getting down and girls all dolled up looking tight and right. As long as that stays constant and the speakers fucking work, i'll be going out shortly, and so will you! And all that glow stick, cabbage patch, candy raving mentality has been going on the whole fucking time. it ain't new. Its inherited. U got to educate them that there herbs, then u disc them. ha. And let me put it like this, i'd rather them then homo-thug gun totting profiteers. if u want to be bitter, direct it there....one.

Some good points but time has nothing to do with it. Look at the hip-hop event this summer. Its everyone old new at a huge place. It used to be like that with raves and time has nothing to do with it. Yes, candy fags have been around forever and I always said that but it was the candy group and they would mind their own business and if you talked with them they ususally were pretty cool, real people. Now everyone just wants to be as candy fag as possible just to fit in. Yes, I would rather gun-gangsters then thousands of fags. The guns kept these fake ass bitches out. I never carried a gun, a knife probably countable numbers of times. I also sold some stuff here and there for years and never had a problem with BTS or anyone of the sort. I minded my own business, hung with a normal group of kids and kept my distance if I had lots of $$ on me. Yes, if I was some stripped candy fag I would be worried of them too. So time has nothing to do with it because hip hop has been around just as long if not longer and always had huge bashes with way more violence and shit still goes down. Rave promoters just are cheap and poor now or dead. I agree most people I hung with did goto jail, few dead but not me. I am about to graduate Hofsta with honors in 6 months. So raves do not = crime or stupidity. People = crime and stupidity we all have our own choices.
