My older brother was a deadhead who now works for E and Y. He has no clue about the scene, so asking him wouldnt help. However I chill with some of the old skool heads who started up the NASA parties and were spinning out since before then. I have asked them. So get your facts straight and again re-read what you have previously written and then my points will be understood.

I never said that raves werent better way back when. I do not think you are right. Shit is just different. Plain and simple. A rave is still a rave just on a much smaller scale. Back in the day it was easier for a promoter to get into a spot ie Liberty Science Center, the Brooklyn Bridge so venues are of course going to be more mainstream. Again I want to emphasize that I DO NOT AGREE with you or think YOU ARE RIGHT. My old school friends think it is different not ruined.

I'm gonna post my 2 cents on the issue seeing as how I've been to a lot of scenes not only all over the states but over seas as well:

The scene has not just changed in NY. Being from Chicago I can tell you that around the same time, 2000- present, raves starting changing here in Chicago, over in San Fran, up in Minnesota, and down in Florida. It just wasn't Ny that went through the change. Hell, even u.k., Scotland, France, Germany, ect. have went through a scene overhaul in ways that I can't even begin to get into.

There's no reason to get pissed for something that's not only happening in your town but everyones town. It's inevitable, change is going to occur at some point in time..
