I've been raving strong since the middle of 1991. Can't really speak for the east coast scene because i've only been to a couple of parties out there...but, out here in Southern California....it has it's major ups and downs. Especially, in the latter years.

don't like ur scene, then change it. If you've been going to partys for that long then you should have TONS of knowledge about the scene and you know what it takes to throw an event. People want shit handed to them, if you don't like the parties others are throwing then start up your own. bitching about it does nothing, i can tell you that much.

hunni, first of all, YOU are truely poisoning our garden, honestly. Like any where in the world that you go, there are gonna be assholes, roofies and fake pills, even some wack DJs, but anyone can dress any way that they want and I am ashamed to think that you think that you are a true raver in the slightest. Im sure the scxene is signifigantly different, but NO true raver would EVER call another ravera homo for dressing the way they want to dress. I just got into the scene about a year ago and to this day the most inspiring thing I have ever experienced is feeling the floor drop as the beat drops and seeing everyone moving the same way, to the sme beat, all on the same level of love. Its about love, its about passsion, its about music and community and above all its about the musik and about the PLUR. The smiles and recognizing a friend, sleeping in grand central with all the other party people waiting for the train, its about staying untill the lights turn on and even helping clean up a little. I would really appreciate if you stoped hating on something that is so speacial to so many people, if you are retired just retire already and stop bringing negativity to something so positive to so many people.

First - Mei Jewleh, that was an excellent and eloquent response, you have far more patience than I.
X-Raver - First off, you sound like am ignorant tool, and apparently you know jack and shit about the history of parties and electronica. Otherwise you might know that "fag" or "homo" culture played a big part in creating your little party scene. Look up the Chicago house scene, look up the first DJs to tweak a 303 bassline generator, you'll find out a lot of these things came from GAY warehouse parties back in the day, shit eletronica and parties were even big in gay culture in Britain. So the reason you have your little pills so you and your douchebag friends can go dancing to bomb DJs is because a bunch of faggots and straight kids packed warehouses back in the day with enough support to get the scene and rave culture going. Read a f*cking book before you start spouting off about what you know. As for talking about how people dress and mocking them- you sound like one of those imaginationless sheep that can't think of anything to distinguish themselves from anyone else because they can't form an original thought in their head, so you mock others for actually having the ability to express themselves. So if you hate things so much - learn to DJ and throw your own parties where you guys can dress as manly as you want and re-affirm how straight you are to each other. But I bet you won't because people like you usually only have the ability to bitch. -Joker |

All you people say is " I started going to parties a year ago" or "I have been going to parties for years but.... I live in Cali." Look here in new york we stay until the lights turn on to admire the freaking mess we all made through the night and how we are still standing. Help clean up. Get the hell out of here. The way you can tell if a party was banging if there is a pile 3 feet high of water bottles. But this does not happen anymore beacuse a big New York!! party is 200 people. You all can bitch all you want at me but so far none of your responses has to do with old school new york raves. I also have no problem with people dressing diffrently but now its like people try to be as fruity as possible. And this is 150 out of the 200 people at the party. Talk to me about new york 1995 or so. Someone tell me about BRASS MONKEY 2 or even Phunky Monkey. You people don;t even know what that is. You ever even Heard of the Brass Monkey parties I doubt it. Its all gone forever and its someones fault not times changing.

Really x-raver you need to simmer down. No I can't say anything about the scene in NYC cause I'm in Ohio, and have never been to a party out there. I am an old skool raver though, started back in 1999. Yes some things have changed over time and granted everything changes with time. If you want the scene in NYC to be better than it is now, do something about it. The scene is what you make of it. You know I could start bitchin about the scene in Ohio and how it's not like it was back then, but I'm not going to cause I know that things change. If you still want to go to parties, why not try going else where than your home town. You might find somewhere that you can repect the scene for what it is now.
