Goddamn. First, I have to thank everybody for the first-class entertainment I've been provided with. So much for all that PLUR crap I get shoved down my throat when I walk through a crowd of drunk skanks, just another fad. None of you are as pure as you believe, time for a reality check, and quick!

As for NYC, it looks dead and six feet under. The best idea, rather than pointing the blame at anyone in particular for the routine devolving of a scene over time, would be to first look at yourself and see what you can do about it. What the fuck is everyones beef nowadays? Everybody throws their hands up and calls quits on whatever isn't working their way, which, if I didn't already have to point out, isn't fucking cool. Instead we're hostile. We can't even walk the sidewalks without having to stare at the pavement the entire time; no friendly strangers, no innovative ideas, no contribution to "making shit better", we're all too wrapped up in the negative feelings we got that we live a clouded existence. You say it's pretty much pointless to go out now, but you forget that even though you find these kids responsible for the collapse of a great lifestyle, that it's not to some of these punks. It's their drumbeat and their turn. Let them have their fun, I'd personally rather sit at home with a group of friends switching inbetween crystal and lines of yao, doing our own thing. It's what we got so we make the best of it and we let those chillins paying $25 cover fees for crappy events.

Time does these things, but history repeats itself you forget. Scrape together some dollars bro, organize, plan, find a spot somewhere in the CT woods and use a few of your friend's cars as a source to draw power from or something. It's not as luxurious but it's one option that you do have. Do your own thing in the mean time until the limelight shines on the metropolitan area again you know it's only a matter of time before someone plugs the life support back in and all the mod club "ravers" get a taste of what it was about. I'll cross my fingers on this and stay optimistic... I swear, if I only had the financial means...

If anything is responsible for the instabilty in NYC now it would be the drug addicted, self control-less losers that plauge the streets EVERYWHERE promoting their crappy culture. People must've lost interest in becoming burnt out (or at least to the sound of a dead beat, lol) or watching a bunch of kids drop to the floor after eating a bad batch circulating the place. It's the foolishness behind these types of people that ruin anything. The scene. The fun. Money. Relationships. Whatever. SoCal has it coming their way, just give them some time and they'll realize your frustration.

Maybe my post is coming off irrelevant? I only read about 7 pages of these California kids spazzing the fuck out because you wanted to speak your mind before I had to offer my commentary, and I haven't seen my pillow in 2 days so I'm on a "vocal roll"

\m/ Rock it

Or better yet dude, for the same amount of dollars it would take you to toss a slammin gig, you could monetarily secure yourself for the upcoming season in Ibiza.

Like I said, I totally push new music and try to school the kids on the classics. Yeah, I'm talking about "1 night..." (brag rights). I'm also talking about old Plastikman, Joey Beltram, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Afrohead, etc.. The thing is the kids don't quite get it.

I'd support the Happy Hardcore genre more if it wasn't the main sound that's played. All of the "rave" music is high energy, short attention span music with no depth or musical innovation. In fact, the "Happy Hardcore" isn't even Happy Hardcore. If you want to know what real "Happy Hardcore" sounds like, check out labels like XL, United Dnace and Suburban Base.

In the end, you need varity, quality and a mindset that's open to new and different music. Otherwise you'll end up bored, stagnant and not motivated or intreged to discover where else the music can bring you. The scene can't grow and you're cheating yourself from the musical experience.

Again, I won't stop schooling or pushing the new, but it's a frustrating task. It's just something I have to give back to a scene that has given me so much.

When I went to parties in the city there would be a few freaks and we would all stare at him or her. Now if you don;t dress like a homo you are the weird o. So for all you new scholl ravers who think you know what parties are trust me you have NO CLUE. I look at these venues and they are usually little junk places. Wheres the Roseland, where is the Octagon, Where is the Quary in the Bronx, The Metroplis Lyndan Place Queens? There is nothing anymore. All little cheap clubs. When is there going to be some good party in Manhattan. I think it is over and when we stopped going the whole freaking scene shut down. WHAT DID YOU PEOPLE DO TO RAVES!!!!!!!!
its pple like you that whine and nag about the scene today that ruin it you stupid bloody whore

This member is the original thread starter. Default The new kids?

The new kids do nothing except party in some clubs basement for 25$$. Yes something needs to be done about it. There is nothing I can do. I am not rich at all. I will pay my way through the door if its worth my time. And everyone I know that used to goto parties think basicly the same as me. Some x-drug addicts some never did drugs just partied some still drug addicts. We all hate NYC parties and I am 26 and lived here all my life. Just like my whole crew. So who ever used to promote parties get off your ass and start planning a party worth our while.

I would not wear some glowstick outfit like a fruity homo. It is funny how many people do agree with me. Yes the majority of you think I am wrong (new school rookie candy homos) but many think and know I am right. Parties are done and all you kids SUCK!!! BTS did what they did because you candy homos were easy pray and they helped filter you out. They would say shit to me I would look away or say no thats all they left me alone. You deal with drugs and dress like retards of course they will rob you. I would right now, just mail me your money!!! you probaly buy fake drugs anywaze. Keep posting.
i really have a question...why do you suck so much...and i really do not apreciate you saying "homo" so much..actually at all. so if your going to be a total jerk...at least do it without be derogatory to some peoples sexual preferences. i happen to be straight but i have alot of gay freinds.

Whoopdy doo. I don't know why this thread is going on. He think new ravers ruined the rave scene as new ravers oppose the thought of his opinion with one's own opinion on an online message board. Your word against his, his word against yours; it doesn't matter because in the end, we all stick to our own morals and thoughts. So BLAH!

Only one thing is constant and predictable and ever-present.... CHANGE. Deal with it. What else can I say?

This member is the original thread starter. Default You are not talking change. you are talking total change

This is not change. This is shutdown this is the end of raves in NYC this is the end to NYC as a good party city. It is changed 100% not a little not some music not some peeople not some clubs. Everything is gone and this is my problem. Are you trying to tell me that everone who used to throw these real parties that I used to attened are all gone. These people just fell off and said " screw raves, yeah we throw great parties but yeah I think were done." Is that what happened cause something did. This is not change it is total rebirth and it sucks. They is no way for me to promote a party. Once raves took a shit I started college. Now I am almost done and cant worry about orginazing a party. Also I am not a real promoter or ever was. This is not my claim. But someone who has to see this thread is and he/she can freaking do something about the rave mess in NYC!!!
