I was a doer. I did more then most of you on here. Every weekend big party for like over 5 years this is when parties were real. So now my doing is done and so is every other real raver as well. Mabey there are a few kids who still go but those are the kids that have no life and rely on you retards buying fake drugs from them, which I have no problem with. I would sell you all fake drugs too if I was at a party now. Old party kids get mad when they goto raves. Selling fake drugs to you noobies would give me some kind of satisfaction like knowing I had a negative impact on your night just like you did to our whole scene. So if I hurt one of your nights it is a little payback. But think you ruined our whole scence. Yes the cops, yes the laws. But bla bla bla. Promoter spend the money and throw a rave. It is almost that easy. Get the permit and invest some money and done. Real party in NYC again!!! I see whistle comming up. Wow sounds great I gotta drive to stupid philly to goto a club i used to goto? Well at least it is a big venue but still I have been there plenty of times so I really dont care and its not in NYC so again bullshit!!!

I'm new to the board and I have to admit that I haven't read the entire thread. A little background on myself - I'm gonna be 30 in a few years and I used to go to raves from 96 to 2000. X-raver's nostalgy for big events is understandable. I, too, miss big parties like the Brass Monkey parties at Roseland, Sputniks, Boo parties (just off the top of my head). I haven't heard for a while about used-to-be big promoters like Zero Tolerance, Park Rave Maddness, Caffeine (again, just off the top of my head). I will always remember that time of my life as probably the best period of my life, and I miss those events. About the rest of the original post by x-raver, I cannot comment on, because I've been out of the scene for so long.

See. there are people who arent newbies. I am going to be 26 in a month so I kind of hear you. But they are the times of my life as well and my whole complaint is that nobody tries to do it again. I know you cant have the same crew at the parties as there used to be. You cant even smoke cigs anymore so how can everyone do what we used to do? But thats not my issue I want a big party in NYC again. It can happen and I think it is people do not spend the money because of all these newbies ruining the raves. It all happened when these same newbies started throwing parties thinking that so many people would pay 45$ to walk into a place we used to pay 20 1 year ago. Then from there people stopped going and laws came into the mix at the same time. But I blame the people . Throw a damn party that so many people will goto and if you make it a normal price it could happen.

Those times that you are talking about and that both of us miss so much, I'm afraid, are gone. The change in people, the change in culture, the change in laws - all these factors have made the old school scene extinct. The electronic scene is here to stay, but the original rave scene is pretty much dead. There's nothing that we can do. Most of the 90s ravers are either on drugs and are in rehab or jail, or have moved on with their lives, just reminiscing about the times past. I want a big party in NY as much as anybody and it is possible, but I don't know if any of the promoters will have enough support from the authorities, or cash or both.
