First of all let me give you some background. I went to parties every week I would say from 95-2000,20001. They were the best!! Roseland ballroom come on. Where DID THAT GO!!!! And all you people dressing up like homos now? What is that. Drugs are even wack now. K is gone dips are pee and lighter fluid. I blame all you new school ravers dressing like fruity homos. When I went to parties in the city there would be a few freaks and we would all stare at him or her. Now if you don;t dress like a homo you are the weird o. So for all you new scholl ravers who think you know what parties are trust me you have NO CLUE. I look at these venues and they are usually little junk places. Wheres the Roseland, where is the Octagon, Where is the Quary in the Bronx, The Metroplis Lyndan Place Queens? There is nothing anymore. All little cheap clubs. When is there going to be some good party in Manhattan. I think it is over and when we stopped going the whole freaking scene shut down. WHAT DID YOU PEOPLE DO TO RAVES!!!!!!!!

If you are not from New York then you have no clue what I mean. You have to understand NYC. Raves used to be great with the vibe and all that crap but it is gone. The new people are the worst. The new clubs are the worst which again you would not understand. Think of the biggest place in the middle of nyc totally packed bumping all wasted and having fun to a small club with room no drugs no smoking and sometimes no drinks. What is that crap. So stay on the West Coast where parties are still big. Come to a NYC rave and then talk to me about how dumb they are now.

I'm not from NY but I personally think our scene is alive and well. Who cares about the drug side of things, that's not the basis of the scene. I party in DC and I know that doesn't compare to many places in the world, but I have fun. Parties can be fun with just 10 people. I am a candy raver and I will probably be that way forever, even though people talk mad shit. Let people dress the way they want, that's what a rave is, somewhere that you can be yourself without the judgements of others. Get happy, spread the PLUR and help your scene by doing something about it, not bitchin and complaining.

There is a lot we can do. The whole rave generation ending in 2000 is gone which was your whole scene. Now you got scattered groups here and there not like it was. Everyone knew each other. Now its a bunch of "candy homos" hugging and kissing dancing to their gay happy hardcore. There is no hardcore scene at all anymore. Raves are done and thats all there is. Keep going to your gay clubs and let me know when a party is at a real venue like the Roseland or something even close to that scale in new york.

(by the way hardcore is far from dead-- terror twins, sanzOne, heathcliff, Manchild, How hard... Shall i go on??) ive got a good name for you party too i think it fits you, fag fest... it can be a massive almost as huge as the dick you take in your ass. now shut the fuck up and go switch to the emo scene ... laterz everyone else ![]() ps- people like you are the ones dividing the scene up into groups theres no new york rave scene its part the of north east you are alowd out of the fucking state or does your mom not want you to move out of the house?? fuck you and get out of the "dead scene". bitch |

Most people in the city don;t have cars homo. And the raves are dead you must be a young candy homo too. I want to hear from someone who knows what NYC used to be like not from all you wanna be homo's thinking you are keeping the scene alive when it is OVER. Look at these gay clubs and the gay prices. It used to be 10$ for Lenny Dee and Nostrum. Now you will never see the two and if so it is like 40$ for a wack ass club. I don;t care what you new school wanna bees think. And of course there is drugs but they are not the same eaither. Again, something that a new school candy homo would not know. So someone who knows anything and is not a new school homo then you can let me know your opinion and it will matter. I know I could drive to DC 4 hours to some gay armory party with the most boring music in the wolrd but I have done that shit twice and I am not ever doing it again. NEW YORK CITY WAS THE PLACE NOT ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!(except Amsterdam) which I also went to raves there as well and that is an alive scene if you want to learn what one is. So keep being in denial that NYC is still strong cause you have NO FREAKIN clue trust me. Go ask someone from the late 90's what they think.

X-raver, grace and peace to you.
*hug* I see where you are coming from. You are entitled to your opinion. But maybe ravelinks isn't the ideal place for you to find like minded people. RL is mostly compromised of present ravers who love the scene, enjoy the scene and don't have huge issues with it as you appear to. There are very, very few of us here who are not involved with the underground, and probably less who aren't involved with the drugs. I am sure many of your points about the progressive nature of society are accurate: we have come a fair way from a few aspects of the old days, for example; how some men choose to dress. History reflects a signifigant pattern: change is INEVITABLE. No matter how you look at it, social structures do not last forever, in fact they are rapidly renewing themselves like never charted before in time. Fashion is a prime example of how old things reinvent themselves, and while being so utterly different from the original, bare overwhelming resemblence and similarity to the ways of old. Man-made constructs are not going to be exactly how they were ten years ago. Maybe not even Five years ago. The built abiotic world must move with it's makers; it must evolve - and thought it may continue in the ways of the old as true to itself as it can possible be - some things simply cannot stay the same. However, change is not doomed to be less than the former, but shaped and moulded by the path laid down behind it's progress. I am truly sorry that you are finding the NY rave scene less satisfying than you may have 5 or so years ago. I hope you are able to find peace with a society that looks to it's "Ford, almighty" for reform, social stability, progress.\Someone's been reading too much Aldous "Tripper" Huxley!!! ![]() |

xraver- you say you started partyin in 95- and you think you know the scene...youve got more issues then your bitchin about....i went to my first party in 89' i watched the scene change...face it, it happens.... i dont know why your hatin on the new crew of partykids that moved in, granted they arent as original as we used to be but theres also no 99x in hoboken .. or liquid sky...but hey shit happens..the only valid point i hear you making is there is no really good massive venue partys ,i.e roseland and hammerstein ballroom asbury park conv. center etc. but you cant blame the peeps in the scene for making your time wack. just dance its all about phat beats and blazin vibes... deal with it...

I've been raving strong since the middle of 1991. Can't really speak for the east coast scene because i've only been to a couple of parties out there...but, out here in Southern California....it has it's major ups and downs. Especially, in the latter years.
