That sucks.. There are seriously no venues left. Time to start throwing warehouse parties again, or outlaw parties upstate. Lots of land, lots of privacy

Thats what I have been bitching about for a year now. Also anyone who knows what raves are got their wish. This place was a joke and made NYC look worse than it already does.

Tax issues and revenue issues.
And for the haters that claim no more venues here is a list ass holes Exit (brooklyn) C-pac (2000+ venue flatbush) Rebel (old downtime with more room) Studio B(brooklyn, moby was there over the summer as well as tons of others) Midway(small weekly spot) SinSin(slightly larger weekly spot) Pacha Avalon(still open) and the list goes on. Before you talk shit get your head out of your ass and realize that there is still tons of shit going on in this city. If you are too stupid to look anywhere other than this board than the city doesnt want you. |

That good ol' feeling inside when everyone is holding hands and feeling the music..not just hearing it...its long gone....you wouldn't understand it. Looking pretty wasn't a priority then...thank you meatheads...we owe the scene dying because of you.... SG |

Actually the scene is dead because a bunch of kids got on the interweb and started making rules to govern how a rave should be thrown and how people should act and where they should or shouldnt be held. IF you were old skool unless you are coming out of the original school ie Storm, Nasa, Deep parties then you never knew what holding hands and loving the music was about if you raved in NYC. Did you forget people getting stabbed, robbed and jumped at every party. Or do you want to wipe the slate clean and forget that it ever happened. Roseland still exists, older parties were held at Rebel now downtime from time to time, and many of the other venues still exist but no longer would even think of allowing an edm event after said few fucked it up for all.
On top of which how are you gonna talk shit on C-pac. The first party will be thrown there tomorrow. It is 2000+ capacity. I was at most of the venues that the "old skool" kids talk about. You all seem to forget that rave is a vibe not a place. You also seem to forget how this shit started in NYC. A room, decks, maybe 50 kids, a bunch of xtc and a strobe light. You must be referring to the popularization of the movement. Hence an influx of kids who ran when the going got tough or the drugs wore off. That is the difference between me and many of you who no longer go out because this sux or that sux. The music and the artists are almost all still here and playing frequently. If you dont go out and enjoy yourself it is on you not the venue, not the promoter, not the fellow ravers. You make the best of a situation. But once kids got on the net and started arguing semantics and scrutinizing any and everything even what has existed since raves inception in NYC you end up with an attitude like many on this and other boards. PS without new blood you have no scene. And quite frankly new kids dont give a fuck if you are old skool or not. So a kid who is 17 now wasnt going out when he was 6 years old. Are you going to hold that against him? If so that is pathetic. Oh and the producers/djs they also dont give a rats ass if you are old skool or not. It just means you may know their older tracks and may have been supporting them. But I bet they are happy to have a new and wider audience. THis whole I am old skool you are not I am going to compare today and beyond to yester year is tired and played out. No one denies that parties were bigger and more frequent 10 years ago. But to say it is dead well start going out again and getting your friends out again and the scene wont be dead. Once you stopped going as far as you were concerned the scene died.
