to many NYC haterz .. and jaded little people that are TOTALLY confused with who and what they are ....

first they are gothic, then ravers, then metalheads, then hiphoppers, then something else and so on and so on , its all about fuckin trends with people now a days, being "cool" used to be doing what everyone WAS'NT doing! hence the "RAVE SCENE"! which was away from the Commercial Clubs and trendy shit!

then it became a trend, and commercial posers infected the scene .... and killed it!

bunch of infected minds out there waiting for the next trend, its really sad to say but thats why the scene is dead ... music trends have infected childrens minds, the britney spears, paris hiltons, LIL Jon, and other Fake plastic commercial talentless morons and looooosers have done the job for the commercial market to take peoples & young kids money, minds and turn them into a solo career monopoly, for all the kids to eat it up like Candy, thoughtlessly, almost roboticly .... the plan for the commercial music world to suceed.

... its not like it used to be thats for sure ....

(END OF RANT)LOL!

but we hope to bring some life back to the scene again ..... August , and October 2007 bringin it back NYC oldskool

Cheap! ... FUN! ,Friendly! , and Underground!

August 2007 - "Return From Mars"

October 2007 - "Witchkrafty Beat Ball"

maybe the scene as we knew is dead. RIP, i tip a 40 to your memory. Disco died, so did flower power, and new wave. Everything sooner or later dies because the faces grow up. Pretty soon they'll be some completely new scene developing. If you would have told all the john travolta look-a-likes in all the discoteques back in the 1970's, that in 20 years people would be dancing in big baggies clothes, with pacifiers in there mouths, bugging out off acid....well.....some off those froey, polyester drapped messes MAY have nodded in agreement, but thats only because there noses were wide open. Most would have said, "NO WAY. Dance without tight pants. Your a jive turkey man." In another 5 years there will be some other shit, and 10 years after that, the kids from those 5 years will be talking about how, "its just not the same" and "it ain't like it used to be". Its not what it WAS, its what it WILL be. The scene is developing toward something different. Enjoy it while it lasts and while its still somewhat formiliar. Pretty soon, you won't know what the fuck is going on, that is, if you knew what the fuck was up to begin with. ha.

My theory!!! When we were all gettin dirty at the parties the shit was mad fun. Good Venues, some venues were in the middle of nowhere. Most people would never go to a rave. Drugs loud ass music, stompin the floor. if you werent a raver you didnt understand it. The shit was off the chain. Most of the time you either had to be a club kid or know somebody that knew where the party was at. Now the scene has gotten so mainstream. For example tiesto opened up at the Olympics, PVD played at Central park a few days ago. the parties are so big you get the tickets on ticketmaster. Who the fuck doesnt go on ticketmaster. Rave (dont exist anymore) so people think it nots a bad thing anymore. College kids go to parties to get drunk and before you know it everybody going. kids with tight pants and button down shirt, and Polos. Mainstream massive Dj's killed it. Since it aint underground anymore everybody thinks it's ok. just puttin my 2 cents in. Pace/peace

I know its an old thread but, how can you love ultra, and ask "whats the deal" with it at the same time? Ha. So...what precinct do you work for? ha. Just playing (I think). But if you are a cop theres not really any reason to worry anymore, the scene in nyc is kinda fragmented. Theres not really a centralized group of promoters and players pumping time and big money into it anymore. Its more specialized now. You go there to listen to db, you take the f to the 6to listen to that. Parties were once about variety, but thats more and more going by the wayside do in part to marketing and financial incentive taking precendence over fun and mutual unity. In the 90's, it was still in its infancy. The rave culture offered a new avenue of self expression and subculture to be part of. It was unstructured, spread word of mouth (like mono) and under different legal constraints. In other words, That shit was underground bitch! That novelty has faded, the dj's that were new and "coming up" are now established and demand to be payed accordingly putting greater strain on promoters who already have to deal with higher venue fees. The new dj's that are replacing the old are not listening to different kinds of music, sticking to a certain genre do to specialization and therefore are not formulating a new sound to attract new people to. Its stagnant in NYC. Do to rave laws and in particular mayor guilliani's administrations push to privatize NYC in the late 90's, alot of the old school headz folded up shop and moved out, leaving a void of knowledge with which the new school has suffered from. (I.E.- fight dancing to hardcore is not rave. Swinging your arms violently into the air as if you were drowning is not rave. Ha. Or maybe im just behind the times.) Alot of people haven't seen the real and therefore aren't coming out or getting turned on anymore. Its not fuckin sad though. Its evolution. Shit must die to be reborn. Rock died when billy holiday, and richie valens died in a plane crash, and was reborn into the doors and led zeppelin which then od'd,dried out and was repaved as two different avenues, punk and disco, which then wore down, got torn up, and reformed into new wave, synth pop and eventually rave. If you can't deal with it, its because your over it. Move on. ha. For those that are sticking it out, it'll be fun. one.
