What happened to the scene?

I remember a few years ago there would be parties with like 30 DJs on the list (the key Skate in the bronx was my fav. venue). Now there is nothing going on in the NY scene. Is it just me? Haven't been to a party in a while and i've been checking this site for quite some time but not finding anything like there used to be. What's going on?

i know the scene over here is going strong and also in europe, holland ect putting on partie like master of hardcore, not to sure on the scene in the states though

It's slowed down a bit... there are tougher laws and less people going. I have noticed a lot of people I used to rave with are going to clubs now, it's a more chill atmosphere now that we are getting older. I don't know... maybe it's still going strong, maybe we just don't know where to look.

Clubs are fun too but I need to rock out to the hard stuff every now and then ya know?

Dude, I agree with you completely. I don't have a problem going to a club and dancing. But raves are more real to me. The music is the main attraction, not what the women look like, or how many guys will buy a girl a drink. The dance style is also much different, it's easier, IMO, to dance to club music. There isn't much that goes on, maybe a spin here and there, and a whole lot of shuffling you feet. You can be more relaxed and creative at a party. Either way, now that I am old enough to buy alcohol and drink at all the clubs, I just go where the best EDM is for the night....

hey im new to mew yorks scene just came up from outta state if theres ne1 who can possibly show me around as far as some serious partys or maybe just links online because i never used a computer for this before i was always just in u know but now i have no crew to go find the scene please post sumthin good 4 me if possible i need sum fun my birthday is in less than 1 month i want to go and hopefully have a good birthday such as maybe be blown up so hard when i come to i still don't know who i am. but yea if ne1 has ne ideas where i could go nice . but guess what im out 4 now so please post sumthin for me i will check up as much as possible.

why dont you hire a club and put some raves on, do they not let you play hardstyle/techno/hardcore ect in the clubs there?

i already live in ny and i still cant see why they say that nyc is the rave spot but i did see a flyer sumwhere about ultra whats the deal when how long exact location in central park please get to back to me immediately i love ultra

trends changed in the music, people started to grow up and most of the driving forces somewhat dried up is my opinion

when liquid sky left nyc, it took some scene with it
when giuliani cracked down, it took some scene
too many damn factors...

also the trendy chemicals changed, and dumped it worse

The scene changes everywhere, but it is coming back now and in a large way.
