A Summer Evening of Grooved Out Broken Beats & Breaks… Saturday - July 7, 2007 Featuring: WAVEWHORE (Broke – Electrofly – BreaksFM – BombTraxx - Nexus Artists – NYC) With releases on high profile record labels such as Broke, BreaksFM, Electrofly and BombTraxx, New York City based Wavewhore is quickly building a reputation as one to watch in the global breakbeat community. His skills behind the decks have also led to headlining appearances across the US and in Europe and he has appeared as a guest on Annie Nightingale’s show on BBC Radio 1 London, Jay Cunning’s Breakbeat Sessions on KISS FM London and Liquid Todd’s radio show on WKTU 103.5 FM New York. In addition, Wavewhore is a resident at the Sullivan Room, one of New York City’s premier underground venues, and he regularly hosts ‘The Audio Tactics Sessions’ on the Breakspoll award-winning BreaksFM internet station ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). Wavewhore’s name is derived from his addiction to manipulating audio waveforms and from all appearances he promises to be an inspiring force in electronic dance music. From glitch hop to dubstep to funk fuelled breaks to tearout, The Sunz of Mecha have proven over the last 10 years that they reign supreme in the underground breaks scene both behind the decks and on the buttons. With an empire consisting of 6 labels and the 5 times award winning radio station Breaks FM, there is just no stopping these two brothers from South London. Armed with the freshest sounds the scene has to offer, you’re sure to be in for a bass fuelled treat. PAUL DIGS (Bastard Jazz – NYC) Representing Brooklyn's own Bastard Jazz Recordings, Paul Digs will be bringing his eclectic multi-genre explorations of funk, breakbeat, classics, dub, disco, latin and hip hop, keeping things funky and dance floor heavy. Look out for BJ's flagship party "Digging Deeper" at a new location to be announced soon. ARCEE (Downbeat Productions – NYC) Representing the label Downbeat Productions, ARCEE has been pushing Drum & Bass and Breakbeat for the past decade... known for playing the tearout side of breaks, Arcee's DnB selection is a special blend of future soul, funk and dub. If you're into the warmer side of Drum and Bass be sure to stick around for this set! HI-FI (Brooklyn Bass – NYC) Hailing from Brooklyn, Elliott (aka HI-FI) has involved himself in the NYC breaks scene since 2001. Residing briefly in south Florida, his involvement in electronic music blossomed after being introduced to the hard electro scene that at that time was dominating the dance floors and he gradually made the leap from breaks fan to promoter hosting local dj's around the Ft. Lauderdale area in the late 90's. Once stationed in New York, his focus shifted behind the turntables and his style of electro-funk and bassline breaks sets has been tearing up the dance floor ever since. @ REBOOT BAR 37 Ave. A (bet. 2nd & 3rd Ave.) Doors 10pm $3 suggested donation 21+ w/ ID Come dressed in your best island wear for a special Luau birthday celebration for Wavewhore, Bionic of Sunz of Mecha and Hi-Fi!!! ![]() ![]() |
