OMAR SANTANA
Tricked Out Recordings - H2OH – Moonshine – Ninja Tune - NYC

This tale from the hard-side begins back in the early '80's in the metropolis of New York City where John "Jellybean" Benitez's residency at The Funhouse Club in Manhattan had fulfilled the job of inspiring a whole new generation to take the sound of dance music well into the future and beyond. One of these disciples went by the name of Omar Santana. From the borough of Queens, New York, Omar slowly began to make a name for himself as a DJ in the Dynamic Rockers crew, putting on jams, sound-battles and creating a solid underground vibe to rock the city. During this time, Omar started linking up with likes of Arthur Baker, as well as the Tommy Boy and Sleeping Bag Records camps. This led to many studio projects as he started producing in a big way and during the '80's worked alongside some of the true sound pioneers like Mantronix, Boogie Boys, T la Rock and Stetsasonic.

The man was now on a proper roll and going from strength to strength by editing and remixing such artists as Public Enemy, Janet Jackson, Simply Red, Quincy Jones and The Rolling Stones. The list of his recording credits is endless... Omar was in serious demand and very quickly became known as one of the "Editing Kings" who would consequently stand the test of time as an inspiration for all future warriors in the trade of cut-up beats and sound. The legendary Omar Santana is one of the true pioneers of breakbeat and his early releases and mix CD’s for Moonshine in the late 90’s are seminal to the breakbeat sound that exists today. And when the Chemical Brothers went looking for samples guess whose door they knocked on?

Eventually, the time came for Omar to create an outlet for his own material and H2OH Recordings was developed to release his own brand of hardcore beats. The label built up a strong reputation and such was it's success that a sister label by name of Tricked Out Recordings was brought into operation to set the agenda for American breakbeat. WAVEWHORE
Broke Recordings - BreaksFM - Electrofly Records - BombTraxx – Nexus Artists - NYC

With releases on high profile record labels such as Broke, BreaksFM, Electrofly and BombTraxx, New York City based Wavewhore is quickly building a reputation as one to watch in the global breakbeat community. His skills behind the decks have also led to headlining appearances across the US and in Europe and he has appeared as a guest on Annie Nightingale’s show on BBC Radio 1 London, Jay Cunning’s Breakbeat Sessions on KISS FM London and Liquid Todd’s radio show on WKTU 103.5 FM New York. In addition, Wavewhore is a resident at the Sullivan Room, one of New York City’s premier underground venues, and he regularly hosts ‘The Audio Tactics Sessions’ on the Breakspoll award-winning BreaksFM internet station ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]).

Wavewhore began his career as a heavy metal guitarist performing in clubs while he was still in high school and his first electronic release dates back to 1992. In 2007, Wavewhore was nominated for the Breakthrough Producer category at the annual Breakspoll Awards in London and his cutting edge music has received high level support from many of the top names in the business including Aquasky, General Midi, DJ Icey, The Autobots, The Freestylers, Elite Force, Drumattic Twins and many more. As a musician, he stands apart in his ability to produce a wide variety of styles within the breaks genre with quality results. His diversity in production also carries into his DJ sets which blend many styles of breaks from funk to bassline to tech into powerful and effective mixes that whip the dance floor into a frenzy.

Wavewhore’s name is derived from his addiction to manipulating audio waveforms and from all appearances he promises to be an inspiring force in electronic dance music. EVIL Z
Tricked Out Recordings – Explosive Records – Hard’Onez – Atlanta GA

Evil Z began spinning records in the summer of 1989 to a hardcore industrial fetish crowd. After years of club dates throughout the Southeast US, he started his own series of events, the now legendary, Cyber Raver series, which have featured talent from all types of electronic dance music. In addition, to his production work in the hardstyle genre, Evil Z also produces breaks and is a member of the hardstyle crew Hard`Onez. His remix of Omar Santana’s “Ravers Damnation” co-produced with DJ Fixx is out now on Tricked Out Recordings and stay tuned for several more releases forthcoming on the Tricked Out imprint.

BETTY BOOM
NYCBreakbeat.com - NYC

Known for her love of funky breaks & electro, Betty Boom got her start rocking and throwing events in Los Angeles and moved to New York City in 2005. She has held many residencies through out her career such as Rhythm Lounge with H20 Productions and Bootymachine in LA and has worked with Robtronik and Spundae/Godskitchen in putting together large-scale events where she has played along side talent including Hyper, Madame Mercury, DJ Whatt, Freq Nasty and Reid Speed. After graduating cum laude with her B.S. from USC, Betty moved to New York City for a new job and a change of pace. Thriving off of the growing breaks scene in NYC, she promotes the local breaks community through NYCBreakbeat.com and continues to play many events on the East and West Coasts.

ORION
Disorient – NYC

Hailing from Brooklyn, HI-FI has involved himself in the New York City breaks scene since 2001. Residing briefly in South Florida his involvement in electronic music blossomed after being introduced to the hard electro scene that was dominating the dance floors at that time. Gradually, he made the leap from fan to breaks promoter and hosted events in the Ft.Lauderdale area in the late 90's. Once stationed in New York City, his focus shifted behind the turntables and his style of electro-funk and bass-line breaks sets has been tearing up the dance floors ever since.
