I'm from northern California and I Read a post saying the rave scene is dead in NYC. I was planning on going over there in August. If there aren't any raves, can anyone suggest a good party place, or somewhere I get my scene fix while I'm there?

there's actually been an upswing in events in and around NYC lately. the lineups might not be as crazy as in the past, full of headliners, but you'll have a good time @ the parties here. if the events in June & July are any indication of the direction the scene is going, you should end up with a decent event or two to hit up while you're here.

Just remembered that one of my buddies is doin' this event @ Club Exit in Brooklyn in August...

If you like jungle, this is gonna be an ill party for you. Other styles include freeform/happycore, hard techno, hardcore, and hardstyle...

Hey Miss Kitty. Are you willing to travel to Providence? Check out new rave forum they have underground raves still happening in thier warehouses from time to time. If I come across any I'll hit you up maybe we can go together!

I go to school in New York and rave at least once a month and I can assure you that the rave scene is not dead. Just check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and you should be able to find a good list of parties to attend when you're there. The best raves happen at Club Exit, and then Studio B and there's DnB in club Love and smaller events @ The Place, and if you're more of a clubber then Pacha.

But if you can make it for 4th of July thats the best time, for Candy Ball.

NICE! I'm totally gonna check this one out! It'll be nice to see venom since he's local for me.

Do not come to school so you can be in a party town. This guy is nuts. Raves are dead here and anyone knows that but 17 year olds. Unless you like happy hardcore in dance clubs where 1 day is hip hop next day is fag day and the 3rd is a "rave" thats all there is. Trust me I am 28 and been here my whole life. Went out since 95 and nobody goes out anymore. We would but theres just little rinky dink shit for like 5-6 years now. Goto school but not here for raves.

Nope. Prime example:

Frankie Bones = amazing.

As for August you could check [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for info on events closer to the date or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] this site gets some but not all.

Yeah the rave scene here did die, but its coming back, obviously not the same as it was; but if your not a douchebag you should have a good time.

damn it's sad but true, the old rave scene did die, around the time i was 7 and dreamed of these euphoric parties, the ones where i would sneek out of my house at 12 and party till sunrise.... but a new scene is starting up and i'm 17 now... so i'm ready to get out

well it is REALLY sad, because when I think of NYC I do think of big empty warehouses flooded with kids dancing till morning. A club is cool....I'm not a douche bag, they aren't as good as the real thing, but....hell it's all about the music and good vibes right? I hope I see some of you there!
