Do you think before you speak? Its the attitudes like yours that "killed" the rave. Do u even know the meaning of a rave? What they stand for? Why our "4-fathers" of the rave did what they did? You can talk about how many people raves in NY once had. But the amount of people is not what makes a rave. Its attitude, respect, energy, emotion, music, love. Coming together under one roof for one common love.

You can keep talking about how much you know.. But its quite clear you know nothing about what the true meaning of a rave is.

Default One time thing.

Actually retard the size of April Fools was a one time thing. That was the biggest party on the east coast (inside) ever (one of the biggest). It was a one time deal that size. But 1000-3000 was a normal weekly deal. And when I started going to raves they were new to amost everone. It was an amazing experience. First rave I went to was a hardcore party from then on I was hooked until a few years ago. I started becuase the same reason real people did, it was new and fun. Not because I saw it on tv it it looked cool not becuase your older brother told me about it so I followed. It was a new thing at at the time a new culture. Now its a bunch of fucking flakes. Believe me the reason I went to raves was original not because of MTV raves (its prob a fucking show!!) So all you retards screw you and the few who recognize the change and know its nothing anymore i'm with you and just dont let yourselves forget how good of a time and good thrown parties we used to goto. Thank god for memory (even though I would be so fucked up I dont rember everything!!).

woah...what happened to PLUR? (hahahaha)

i realize the rave scene is pretty much dead anywhere in the us....but i was hopefully to find any parties other than at pacha, crobar, etc. those are easy to find. i miss the good ol' days with underground parties. (i'm the ripe old age of 27)

i guess i can feel lucky i went to brass monkey '98 (thanks for reminding me of the name of it, raver x!!!!!) shoulda moved here years ago

i guess i'll keep checking this board for anything good. that brooklyn party sounds promising! thanks guys.

Default Thanks Jen

Wow a girl who knows what raves are. Yes Jen we are lucky that we went to the monkey parties. The problem is these newbie idiots who think they goto raves. See, I complain about how shitty things are in hope of someone like the people who threw the monkey parties to read this. See, the real ravers know things are dead but I have hope that someone will invest in NYC and throw a bash. I do not expect every week anymore these new retards would not be able to handle that much intensity but come on once a month once every other month that is not to much to ask. So it is good to see that more and more real ravers do agree with me and everyone brings up the same fucking point " At least I got to goto a monkey party" look around its been said by many.

hell if you wanna talk about parties "raves" and sizes I been to everythign from a 200 head in some dudes backyard with 8-10 dj's up to a massiver with 75k people

my personal favoirites always seem to be in cali tho nocturnal wonderland, monster massive, together as one , or in ontario < wemf - world electronic music festival [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] jul 21-23 this year >

anyways the scene has changed a ton over the past 8-10 years and tell you what doesnt matter if you going to some underground where u call in and gwet directions to the next checkpoint every 10 minutes or if it a massive at some arena the rave scene has been ruined in many ways by the people being stupid more and more a rave isnt about the music but about going out and getting fooked up to many to the true people who love edm the scene may have been ruined in many wyas but the music never loses its magic..

I still go to raves / parties fewer and fewer every year due to the fact I dont agree with the kids doing any and every drug they can find and OD deaths happenin repeatedly causing the scene to get cracked down on .. yes I used to do a few of the recreational / club drugs occasionally still might but I dont need them and most often go out and enjoy the music its all the drug I need and as long as there is music to go enjoy the scene will never be completely ruined to me I will always find enjoyment hearing new tracks and mixes learning of new artists / dj's and meeting the many different "ravers" that have made the scene what is today and helped make all the memories I have both good and bad over the past decade..

candyflip

"see you on the FLIPside "

the rave scene may die but the music never will.........

talking to some friends they are thinking about taking my old cali "desert rave " and making it into a new york style one ....

biggest issue atm is finding a proper location in my area have all the connects for talent ... cash flow is also a small problem atm..

Default my point jungle

This is my point Jungle. There are not any parties like that here anymore. Ever. This is my whole thing I am bitching about because there used to be bashes every weekend with the min. being 1000 I would say maybe 750. It is not the drugs. Its the people who used to promote parties are dead or done with raves. The new promoters suck and have not a clue what to do. IF a few promoters who make income from throwing raves thought about things for a minute they would get a real rave going again in manhatan. But this wont happen again because people now dont give a shit and want to deal with the things that go along with throwing a big rave. But it used to be done every week so it has to be the current people doing things.
