Need an education...
Booting up for a trip to NYC 10/14 thru 10/17, and hoping that a decent party will be happening in the area. HOWEVER, in the event I end up confined to the city clubs, I need some help figuring out the right spot(s) for me.
I don't have much of a tolerance for house, or any players that rely too heavily on the "genrefication" of techno. That is, a club that focuses entirely on d'n'b, or psytrance, or ultra-garage-twostep-mashup-breakcore-rump-de-rump or whatever the hell the kids are listening to these days, will have me paying my tab and heading for the door within an hour. On the other hand, a club that can confidently touch on any or all of these styles in a given night without getting stuck there is right up my alley.
Where's my main interest in techno? In terms of labels, think Tresor, BPitchControl, Zod, Silver, Cheap, Null, KX Noizsystem, 2CB-(US, not UK), Sativae, Form, Scandinavia, and you're in the right neighborhood.
So, there it is. Who can help an old head figure out what's fresh in the city, and thereby impress my friends with a vast knowledge of underground NY…?
Muchas gracias,
