What about NYC. Albany was always nothing compared to the city. The venues are nothing close. There needs to be raves in NY period. There is jack and shit. These promoters should be beaten and smacked around.

Jesus fucking Christ!!!
the scene will NEVER be like it was. Because of ass hats like you cant evolve! Its not about the old school or the new school. Its about the NEXT SCHOOL!

Yes i miss the big shindiggs. I use to go to party's in San Fran with 15k heads. You wont see that any more. It sucks. But if you truly love the music you will support whats left of a once bad ass scene!!!

well maybe we could start something here rather than just saying its nothing & bitching about it. i didnt post this thread hoping that people would complain about "how cool it once was"... i posted this thread in hopes of meeting people who are interested and willing to try and start something here.

granted, albany isnt nyc. i got ya. [im from brooklyn btw] so i understand the difference between the two. but i still think theres a huge crowd in albany thats just being dismissed. we need to get more raves upstate. theres a lot of kids here who i bet would bring a suprising turnout to these events.

so if anyone has anything good to contribute or any ideas or knows of anything goin on upstate, post it here or get back to me.

lets try and make something happen you lazy fucks

I'll keep this short... let's do it. Let's exchanged some numbers and hook something up. BTW - Anyone here went to that party in CP last night?

I'm happy to see ANYTHING like this go on ANYWHERE upstate. At least the Apple HAS those few shitty clubs to go to. Our choices are pretty much nil. The only place I can get fucked up and trip out is in my damn room.

In Auburn (near syracuse), the only scene is this "XxXHARDCOREXxX" bullshit. Those testosterone pricks stole the letter "X" from us and used it way too much. This part of the U.S. is completely cut off. It seriously reminds me of the conservative south.

All it takes is one - just ONE amazing party to start a scene. Kids are impressionable; show them a good rave, and they will want another one, and another, and another, etc.

We all just have to remember to show up with 50 friends

i also agree.

seems like it should be fairly easy.

we need
a)space
b)sound system
c)dj's

and of slightly less importance but still probably neccassary
d)promoters
e)deco

if anyone has the money for those things, or if anyone is efficient as raising money, i'll donate my time to find the above

electro Re: More Raves in Albany

Im commenting partially to X-raver comment. Im from Albany and a few years ago their was some tight parties. I prob had more fun partying upstate than the city. The parties were a little smaller so you meet more people cause you have no choice but to run into these people and the vibes are right. The Matrix in Poughkeepsie was off the chain, but now they turned it into some gay ass hip hop club. The Asylum in Springfiled Mass was off the chain but they kind of moved the party to the Columns of Knowledge across the street. Hartford got some decent parties every now and then. Any party would be nice. Their good Venues all over NY. Another good thing about upstate your in the middle of nowhere. You can do whatever the fuck you want. Holla.
