Local support on the night...

Anihlist - Buffalo, NY
[Konkrete Jungle Buffalo/Collective/Dreamkiller/Drumlounge.net]

You can't justify throwing a Jungle Party in Buffalo without regressing to the well contained sounds of Anihlist. Making selections for over 6 years, and doing it with a collection he's been maintaining since day one. His soundscape ranges, and it's easy to say. A conossuer of underground hip hop, punk/hardcore & reggae/ska... to name a few.

As of recent, jumping into production with a trusting outcome, especially with such a short amount of practice. He's ready to unleash his own sounds this year, so I'd be on the lookout. His love for ragga is something not many associate him with, but he's also a fluent tech-step head, who isn't affraid of an anthem hear or there.

His style connects the dots through the genres of Drum & Bass, and you're about to witness it first hand. For this show, he's been called upon to warm up and open up, before our neighbors Shinma & Hawstyle show us the way Ohio steps. His experience over the years has exploited him to mixing not only his favorite tracks but your favorites as well.

As an undercover bad boy, he packs his crate with plate after plate. Dropping throwbacks & some fresh tunes, catching styles you prefer is inevitable. So, we dare you to see if you can catch him reading the crowd like an expert, cause you'll be too busy busting a move!

ben:e:j - Buffalo, NY
[Konkrete Jungle Buffalo/FrostyTone/Collective]

All time music lover and equipment/sound enthusiast, this Soundboy isn't one to Test. He captures the reality of the genre while sticking to his roots & bringing an analog or even natural sound. ben:e:j, graduating from Recording Arts Canada in 2007, has become a true sound creator and sculptor. Learing the essentials and maintaining a love for Drum & Bass has made him a devistating force. Soon to be another DJ turned Producer, he's concentrating on making Drum & Bass but has the full intent to explore all options.

When it comes down to playing live, ben:e:j has a secret weapon, and he goes by DaWreck... Now there is a pile of vinyl, a treasure, somewhere in the Southtowns and it will be looked upon by fellow Junglists with awe, incomprehensiveness and unconditional respect for it's ultimate size, quality and possibilties. Every time j blesses the decks, it's a allowance of a ever-so-grateful peak into the never ending supply that dwells between the two, DaWreck & ben:e:j.

Coming out to Konkrete Jungle Buffalo for our second night is almost a punch in the shoulder for a character of such status. Sounds that create a Junglistic atmosphere are manditory. And when it comes down it ben:e:j has access and availability of tracks, that only he does in our area. Not too mention, their treasure has maintained a focus on the cream of the crop. It's a privelage and we're really excited to have him on the Konkrete Buffalo Roster. Get out to party and see what Drum & Bass is made of!

Loki - Buffalo, NY
[Konkrete Jungle Buffalo/Collective/FrostyTone]

Loki's name has been popping up recently, and for good reason. He's one of us old school party kids with music running through his bloods, who made the switch from spinning House Music to Drum & Bass. Being a DJ for over 7 years, he's learned to variate between styles and brings a unique influence to the Jungle Dancefloor. Recently his love for music has evolved into creating and he has his goals set his, watch out for that in the near future.

But as of, his collection of vinyl just keeps growing. Picking out the best selection in his opinion, it's seemed to turn out in all of our favor. Bouncing off one genre to the next is something he likes to do. He makes it a point to mix up at least a few styles before the end of his set, and believe us it takes a talent like his.

Part of the lineup for our follow up to the opener, and righteously chosen to represent for Konkrete Jungle Buffalo. If you haven't had a chance to see Loki out & Off The Wall or The Elmwood Lounge, then you're missing one of the most soulful DJs in the area. Him moving behind the decks, translates into the crowd dancing on the floor. Rotating around a melodic, musical & jazzy sound, it's always a surprise when he brings out the rest of his collection. Come out and not only support, but enjoy yourself as you witness one of the up and comers in the WNY/Upstate area.

replacing Anihlist...

J Scutti Blvd - Rochester, NY
Fiya Sounds/Frosty Tone/Collective

Always tuned in to the newest dance floor DnB, Scutti still likes to be creative and showcase something different within every set. Flowing smoothly between styles, the intent is to keep you steady paced and moving to every beat. Accomplishing just that, with endless amounts of recorgnizable jump up slammers, ragga vocal’d liquid liks, and seemless, timed-out mixes and double drops, J Scutti brands the Fiya Sounds stlyes into your eardrum.

Coming from the Rochester area, and having started his journey at Buffalo State College, like so many of our crew. Fiya Sounds was the name of the radio show on 91.3 fm wbny started by G Roc & Scutti. Quickly moving into daytime hours and demanding a specialty show, adding Basha, Perceptor, ben:e:j & Anihlist to the roster, all while bringing a relentless episode every week that was full of the newest releases and well-known favorites. At this time in our scene, DnB was in a slump and they were right there bringing Drum & Bass back to the ear of Buffalo, gaining notarity in a true respect. The show was a movement in itself and will never be forgotten.

Resident for Fiya Sounds & Underfiya Sessions on 91.3 fm wbny, Caution Thursdays @ 658 Bar & Lounge, OPM Lounge & other random local nights from 2005-present... He’s been involved with promoting the sound since his arrival in the city, from finding party’s on foot & by word of mouth… to spinning records with some of his favorite djs & producers. Look out for his future projects into production. Fiya Sounds is back, he’s already got collaborations with Just Rob aka Audiowright, and has ideas for solo projects upon further collabos, no doubt!
