DJ ICEY
Disco Rodeo Tour – Moist Music – Zone Records – FL
Born and raised in Florida, DJ Icey has been mesmerized by electronic music ever since hearing the synthesizer breakdown on The Edgar Winter Group’s "Frankenstein". Icey recounts "My mom had that album and I would play that middle part over and over wondering how they made that sound… I was little and thought it was so cool!".

Rising to worldwide prominence out of the fertile Orlando Florida electronic music scene which spawned the likes of AK 1200, Kimball Collins, Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier, and Baby Anne, Icey cut his teeth at the legendary Edge nightclub in the mid-90s and even persuaded The Chemical Brothers to play their first show stateside there. When The Edge closed in 1996, DJ Icey hit the road and has stayed on it ever since.

Icey runs two Indie labels dedicated to the breakbeat music he loves. The main imprint, Zone Records, released it's first 12” single in 1994 titled “Energy Tracks Volume 1” and was quickly followed by the hard to find “Encyclopedia Funktanica”. Both of these records gained a cult following worldwide as there was nothing quite like them at the time. Zone Records continues to release more than a dozen records a year and his second label Tree Records follows closely behind with slightly more eccentric productions.
Icey was also discovered by BBC Radio 1 DJ and longtime A&R kingpin Pete Tong and became the first American producer to sign to his American FFRR label in 1997. Icey was also the first American DJ to be selected to record a prestigious "Essential Mix" for US Release. With over 200 12” singles under his belt and 5 CD releases, Icey has Sound Scanned over 300,000 CD units in North America alone. Playing 100+ gigs per year, Icey is a touring maniac. But that doesn’t keep him out of the studio during the week and working on new tracks for his Zone and Tree label imprints. He is constantly trying to push the envelope to make his fans sweat on the dancefloor.
Through out the years, Icey has impacted the breaks movement with his hard-hitting, popular mix CD's and for 2007, he brings a fresh new mix on Moist Music NYC entitled "Disco Rodeo". It features up-front music from international artists such as Rogue Element and Tom Real, General Midi, Hook N Sling & Kid Kenobi, Keith Mackenzie, Noisia and Entity, as well as collaborations with Krafty Kuts and Jen Lasher. Many of the tracks are specially re-edited, remixed and diced up to perfection by Icey, exclusively for this mix. "Disco Rodeo" is sure to delight breaks lovers and electronic dance fans around the globe. DJ Icey’s "Disco Rodeo" is in stores now! WAVEWHORE
Broke - BreaksFM - Electrofly – BombTraxx – Nexus Artist Management - NYC

With releases on high profile record labels such as Broke, BreaksFM, Electrofly and BombTraxx, New York City based Wavewhore is quickly building a reputation as one to watch in the global breakbeat community. His skills behind the decks have also led to headlining appearances across the US and in Europe and he has appeared as a guest on the Annie Nightingale’s show on BBC Radio 1 London and Liquid Todd’s radio show on WKTU 103.5 FM New York. In addition, Wavewhore is a resident at the Sullivan Room, one of New York City’s premier underground venues, and he regularly hosts ‘The Audio Tactics Sessions’ on the Breakspoll award-winning BreaksFM ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) internet station.

Wavewhore began his career as a heavy metal guitarist performing in clubs while he was still in high school and his first electronic release dates back to 1992. His cutting edge music has received high level support from many of the top names in the business including Aquasky, Freestylers, General Midi, DJ Icey, The Autobots, Annie Nightingale, Jay Cunning, Drumattic Twins and many more. As a musician, he stands alone in his ability to produce a wide variety of styles within the breaks genre with quality results. His diversity in production also carries into his DJ sets which blend many styles of breaks from funk to tear-out to tech into powerful and effective mixes that whip dance floor crowds into a frenzy.

In 2004, Wavewhore signed with Electrofly Records and "Breakin' The Law" was released on vinyl in May 2005. His mammoth "Funk Pill" single, which features vocals from Bex Riley, was released on Broke Recordings in 2005 and has been repressed on vinyl four times. “Funk Pill” was also licensed to Finger Lickin’ Records for the “Export 01” compilation mixed by the Drumattic Twins. In October 2006, Broke released Wavewhore’s most recent funk-fuelled single titled “This Is How It Should Be Done” and in the same month his heavy remix of Rektchordz’s “Bass Pressure” was also released on the BreaksFM imprint. The “Bass Pressure” remix has become an anthem in the massive breakbeat raves in Spain. His latest release is a remix of D-Ranged’s “Assembled” which will appear on BombTraxx in 2007.

Wavewhore’s name is derived from his addiction to manipulating audio waveforms and from all appearances he promises to be an inspiring force in electronic dance music.
