This member is the original thread starter. happycore Clubs in NYC

Hi, everyone. I'm a raver from the Berkeley/San Francisco area and I'm coming to NYC this Wed. and I'll be rooming at a place at the Upper West Side. Can you recommend any clubs to me that kick ass and are (preferrably) close by? I'm especially looking for recommendations for a place to go on Wed. and Thurs., which are slow nights at a lot of places. I like all types of electronic music, but I'm not a fan of DnB. Also, the club doesn't have to be huge from a size standpoint. I suppose I'm looking for character and a place where people really come to party, and a club that doesn't have a lot of "attitude," like VIP bs and someone in the bathroom handing you towels. As far as Fri. and Sat. goes, I know about BANG and am thinking about going, but I was hoping to go to an event that was more "underground," like at an abandoned wharehouse.

Thanks,
"Dr. Skillz"

Nothing underground in NYC. Crobar is house Pacha is house. All expensive and big clubs for the guido fist pumpers. Too bad you dont like DNB the world of DNB tour is coming through and will be hot.

dude fuck nyc, no offense to all nyc'ers but seriously all the good ravey clubs are gone! the vibe sucks. philly is where it at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! head to philly!!! mad shit goin on! if u were a junglist i would've recommended konkrete jungle, sullivan room n pacha are the only good clubs left all tho there is libations, which is house but also not bad. dude mark ur calendar for whistle, thee event like half of the population from nyc, ct, dc, ohio, head down to shampoo nightclub in philly fo the three day event which u will not sleep thru. it is thee biggest event on the east coast, nyc can't compete to that!

p.s i love san fran/berkley area got my first 3 records at rasputin records on the telegraph!

Here here and Im in NYC. But I have to tell you this philly boy 10 years ago you had shit on us. Shampoo, electic factory nothing compared to the venues we had here. But now I totally agree with you NYC is a fucking pathetic joke and its the cheap ass promoters who are to blame for the venue problem. But yes you are right.
