NYC | SIMPLE-ANSWER ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Ignoring traditional values and established methods for creating a career in music has taken Mark Verbos on a journey unlike any other producer, DJ, engineer or recording artists. Mark's interest in music began at a vary young age when he began playing instruments and reading music at the age of 5. As a teenager, his interest turned to electronic music and he began playing live sets at Drop Bass Network parties in 1993. By the mid 90's he had released several EPs of his own and began working, as an engineer, in a professional Chicago recording studio. He worked on every imaginable music style, specializing in electronic dance music, with clients including Farley Jackmaster Funk, Ralphie Rosario, Mike Dunn, M Doc, Braxton Holmes, Vince Lawrence and The Final Cut. At this time, Mark started his own label, Simple Answer. In the year 2000 he moved to Berlin to further persue his personal DJ and recording career. he toured throughout Europe as well as Australia. In 2003 Mark moved back to the US, this time to New York and has continued to record and produce other srtists, in addition to his own music. His work with Tommie Sunshine is of particular note, having produced more than 50 remixes and several EPs together under the names Binge & Purge and simply Tommie Sunshine. ![]() DAVE SUMNER aka FUNCTION [ NYC | INFRASTRUCTURE . PHONO ] David Sumner, also known under the guises of Function or Portion Reform, resides in New York and is one of the main driving powers for Techno in the city. His now infamous New York events “Substance” have played host to some of world's top names, and still does regularly. Now with nights promoted across the US, Dave’s label, Infrastructure, is set to have its tenth release this June and has a very healthy catalogue of guests, including , Regis, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero and Christian Wünsch, along with his with his own works as Function. Dave has previously recorded solo projects as well as collaborated with Damon Wild for releases on “Synewave” and has also secretly recorded as Richard Harvey on early “USER” productions. As Portion Reform, Dave is still the only artist from outside of Birmingham to release material on the Downwards label. With his highly energetic dark techno sets, performed with Laptop and decks or his Live only shows, Dave has taken some top parties by storm, Including top events in London (Split), Madrid and events planned for this year at the mighty Kozzmozz and Awakenings Festivals. and some very strong releases on the way.. His tracks have been featured on several CD compilations, and he recently started two minimal labels, Limited400 and Klickhaus. Tim has also collaborated his production with Tony Rohr as the Afternoon Coffee Boys, and is the owner and chief mastering engineer at Manmade Mastering in Brooklyn, NY, where he cuts dubplates and masters.
