Soon Micha and his friends found themselves quickly gravitating towards DJ mixes and the parties going on in their hometown of Nuremberg, Germany. Strongly influenced by the sounds of such artists as the legendary Sven Vaeth, he quit playing guitar, bought turntables, and immersed himself in the world of DJing. His first gigs in 1997 helped support his new record buying habits, and more importantly pushed him into new musical arenas. A year later, Klang began promoting his own events, christened by the Mothership parties. It wasn't long before Mothership became one of the leading club nights in Nuremberg. Other clubs such as Tresor, Airport, Stammheim, and U60311 took notice and put him behind their decks. In the next few years, Micha brought Mothership to many of the best festivals in Europe, and promoted an own as well: Summership. It takes place once a year in an old castle attended by thousands! He added more club nights to his roster (Harpune, Harry Klein, Centrum), and the success of his promotion opened avenues to production. In 2003 Micha Klang, along with friends Joachim Spallek and DJ Sebrok released their first EP on Bash Music. Klang founded his label Paso Music with Spallek, Sebrok, and Marc Miroir in 2004. He released all together two EPs on this imprint. In 2005 he did a remix for Surveillance Music. In 2006 Micha left the Paso guys and launched another Label named Glückskind Schallplatten together with Jürgen Kirsch. A cool label for cool minimal and lovely Techno-Tunes. The first release came out in June 2006. A great EP created by Cologne´s Gabriel Ananda. Someone Else (incl. Marek Hemmann Remix), Christian Quast, Marek Hemmann and Shane Berry from Tokyo will follow. Micha Klang will release several EP´s on Labels like i220, On Records and Glueckskind Schallplatten from the beginning of 2007 onwards. Beside of producing fresh minimal Techno, Micha Klang loves playing long sets of minimal, textured tech-house combined with crunchy, crispy minimal techno beats. Micha lays this mixture thick to rock dancefloors worldwide! ------------------------------------- Due to the unfortunate events preceding last saturdays fall of philadelphia event at the vacuum, rizumu is being moved to lava. After the event was over and people were cleaning up, the cops barged in, broke some things, and told the owner "no more shows in this space or we'll arrest you." The motivation of the police was unclear. The vacuum does not have any recourse right now, it is self funded, diy underground space, trying to stay under the radar. No answer as of now whether there will be shows there in the future or not. For now, its off limits. Also, we decided to raise admission for rizumu at the vacuum from $10 to $15 for 2008, to keep up with the costs of running shows at the vacuum, but for rizumu at lava, the increase no longer applies, so saturday will be only $10. Free redbull, water, and potato goodness still applies. |
