I personally take this as a personal afront. We should all see the police raids, arrests, and investigation as a personal afront. This is terrorism at it's finest people. WAKE THE FUCK UP! Our city has waged war on us because we are different. I agree with every word of what Mickey has to say. I have worked with and for him in the past and it's all true. I wrote this many years ago during a simiar time and it still applies now.

HEAVEN ON EARTH

I’ve been to a place.
To the naked eye this place is nothing special.
But to me it’s heaven on earth.
A place on earth that, for one evening, is perfect.
Dance, music, light, and mostly love find a place to rest to the delight of the ones who stumble upon it.
The sights, the sounds, the smells are all intoxicating.
We dance in the rain to wash away our sins.
Entranced by the beat we find it impossible to be still.
An entire culture of beat junkies.
Sometimes it’s like the hand of god is on your back.
You feel the music in the depths of your soul.
There is no greater high.
A momentary glimpse into our past and we are perfect like children once again.
Content just to be here and now.
I wait each week for news of where paradise is coming to town.
Like an addiction I wait for my next fix.
I fear that someday my next fix won’t come.
Somehow the music will stop and paradise will be no more.
Anxiety fills my chest and my eyes well up.
But then I remember I will always be able to find heaven on earth as long as that spirit is alive in me.

YOU MUST ALWAYS REMEMBER NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO THE SPIRIT IS IN US. THEY CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY TRY AND THEY WILL TRY. THEY CAN SHUT DOWN THE PARTIES AND TURN OUT THE LIGHTS BUT SOMEONE WILL HAVE A LED KEY CHAIN AND A CELL PHONE WITH A KICK ASS RING TONE. LOL YOU SEE THE HUMAN SPIRT WILL ULTIMATELY TRIUMPH OVER THEIR USE OF FEAR TACTICS AND CONTROL. WE ARE STRONG AS A WHOLE! WE NEED TO STOP LETTING OUR PETTY DIFFERENCES GET IN THE WAY AND UNITE AS ONE.

Yeah and personally I am sick of all these suicide bombings going on at raves. Can't we all just get along??? =D

Seriously though, our city has "waged war" on us because raves are housed in buildings which aren't permitted/meant for playing live music in and because it's a great place to go do and BUY drugs (that's the kicker). For example, I went to a party that got shut down not too long ago, the first time I went to a party at this warehouse there were no drugs to be found at all. The second time, and the warehouse was flooded with people and all kinds of fun substances. Can you guess which time it got shut down?

I haven't been into raves for very long, but from an outside perspective there are people who think that these raves are merely fronts for huge drug supermarkets. The abundance of drugs in the rave community has led outsiders to question whether it's really the music or the drugs that keep drawing people. For me, it's the music. For a LOT of us, it's the music. But it only takes a couple people to ruin everyone's good time...
