Though perhaps a bit unrecognized to the global music community, Stockholm's Mikael Stavöstand played a major role in Scandinavia's experimental electronic music scene during the late '90s and early 2000s as not only a prolific artist but also as an event organizer, sound installation artist, and label manager. After having recorded for labels such as 12k, Firework, and Staalplaat, Stavöstand brought Mitek to life, a boutique label he personally oversaw. After debuting Mitek with Lite, a full-length album of minimal glitch that was celebrated for its intelligent application of computer-assembled sounds, the Swedish artist joined forces with Germany's mammoth Force Inc label in early 2001. On this world-recognized, innovative experimental techno label, Stavöstrand released another full-length, Reduce, which saw him applying his meticulous glitch aesthetic to an ambient dub-techno template. Undeniably his most accessible and widely praised release to date, Reduce introduced Stavöstrand to a global audience as one of the leading ambient glitch artists working within the quickly evolving style.

David Sumner, also known under the guises of Function or Portion Reform, resides in New York and is one of the main driving powers for Techno in the city. His now infamous New York events “Substance” have played host to some of world's top names, and still does regularly. Now with nights promoted across the US, Dave’s label, Infrastructure, is set to have its tenth release this June and has a very healthy catalogue of guests, including , Regis, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero and Christian Wünsch, along with his with his own works as Function. Dave has previously recorded solo projects as well as collaborated with Damon Wild for releases on “Synewave” and has also secretly recorded as Richard Harvey on early “USER” productions. As Portion Reform, Dave is still the only artist from outside of Birmingham to release material on the Downwards label. With his highly energetic dark techno sets, performed with Laptop and decks or his Live only shows, Dave has taken some top parties by storm, Including top events in London (Split), Madrid and events planned for this year at the mighty Kozzmozz and Awakenings Festivals. and some very strong releases on the way.. Keep your ears open for Function...

Since 1991 Leonard has been a fixture in New York City's underground music scene, and by the mid nineties he had taken up the incurable habit of amassing a library of vinyl. Leonard's name is on several of these releases as he has designed for a slew of labels from around the world. Leonard has started several successful weekly and bi-monthly parties (Composition, MILQ ~pre robots~, Rebel), where he DJ's alongside numerous respected international and local artists in the electronic underground music scene. His motivation lies in the pursuit to positively engage the audience with the most current and obscure sounds of today, as well as yesterday. Never forget your past or you will never know where to go in the future.
Currently he started a new record label coming out of Brooklyn, NYC, called Thema. This project has been in the works for some time, but due to some critical events in NYC and personally, it had to be delayed in its launch. The music scene and its counter parts experienced a low point to say the least but after some time, the scene is now blooming and is becoming stronger and stronger! The essence of Thema is to create a multi-artist platform to help cultivate the scene here in NYC and abroad. To establish a label that focus' on the future of electronic music.
The power of sound and its inflicted emotions are part of the process.

Born Pakistani, he grew up in the small city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. There he honed an ear for music through playing bass for a rock band. In 1999, he moved to New York City, and his love affair with EDM music began. "I would attend one show after another to experience the talents New York had to offer," he remembers.
He describes his sound as "all that is melodic and dirty, – a chunky, sleazy sound." His big debut started at Stereobar @ STEREO Montreal, where he was alongside the same bill that night as Fred Everything's first ever 8 hour Extended Set at the club. He has played at some of NYC's main events since then. Such events include ROBOTS @ Deville, Shameless Sundays at Le Souk, Basic NYC's Sullivan Room Party just to name a few.
In about almost 1 year this coming may, Taimur has formed the Blkmarket Membership. Blkmarket membership ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) began in May 2006 after the establishment of long time running NYC crew IntuitionNYC (2000-2006) and their loft parties. They currently hold a first Friday of every month residency at the Vault at Element and one offs at other locations, hosting events with guests that have included Someone Else (Foundsound), Alka-rex (Musique Risquee), Andrew Grant (Circo-loco// DC-10 resident), Ark (Circus Company) + Mossa Live (Circus Company), Ezekiel Honig (Microcosm), Nicholas Sauser (Goosehound), David Last (Foundsound), Butane (Alphahouse), Bill Patrick (Robots), Dennis Rodgers (Robots), Pheek(Archipel), Quenum(Cadenza), Cabanne(Perlon), Alex Under (CMYK) and forthcoming confirmed guests include Mikael stavostrand (Mo's Ferry), Lusine (Ghostly), Losoul (Playhouse), Michal ho(Tuning Spork), Will Saul (Simple records) and MyMy(Playhouse) just to name a few! Already being called the bastard child of Robots NYC, their parties have put Taimur+Fahad on techno map for NYC winning awards for best new techno party at the best new venue. Taimur has joined with Fahad, a recent friend with whom they brought this organization to life just within a year and are already making a fast impact to the NY scene just within 1 year.
Taimur is also affiliated with Halcyon ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ], hosting the Nu Pschidt (new releases) night every Tuesday of the week. Since then his vinyl collection has tripled. "Having to work at one of NY's best record stores has opened the door to so much great music right at my fingertips."
His first completed production was a remix of Elon-Reflection and was signed to Proton Radio's 2nd cd Compilation entitled 'Bucktown Business' that was mixed by Brian Ffar and Dan Mnookin hailing from Chicago. James Zabeila recently featured the remix to his '4' series mixes.

Selecting from a diverse array of sounds to create a unique arrangement of stripped-down funk and rhythm, Thomas Schreiber, aka Tom++, brings a clever warmth and emotion to the moment while simultaneously sprinkling in the wierdness. It is through his DJ sets, live performance, studio production, and event orgnization, and with continued dedication to advancement and dissemination of all aspects of the culture, that he finds himself near the heart of the global electronic music movement.
