Anyone Interested in Brininging a Newb into the Scene

My names Nick, I'm 20. I've been passionately haunted by the Teckno gods for about 7 years now. I've only indulged in their realm, however vicariously though headphones and sporadic psychotrips. In that sense I am experienced (audially and chemically) but I really have never been to a legitimate rave or have had friends proud enough to call themselves ravers. I've had no friends who ever expressed even the slightest interest in this delight, even when I've tried to explain to them to the wonder and bliss that accompanies this sort of dance party. I really would like to meet up with a person or peoples who are alright with taking someone along with them who doesn't know much but really wants to find out whats going on. I know that I should expect to express myself to the fullest, dance my head off, meet amazing people, and just overall allow myself to enjoy myself without any restriction. I am a Philosophy major and I love to get deep and think about life and living especially in relation to people and I'm defiantly down for some stimulation conversations as well. If you your friends or whoever are willing to bring me along and introduce me to the scene I would be extremely happy. If not, I hope to see you out on the dance floor somewhere and meet you there

Hey. Have you been around to any parties? I've been thinking about going to the Skool House as soon as i get a pay check, probably around the second week in May. If you'd like to go I'd like to go. I'll probably wind up showing up there by myself anyway because I'd really like to go to a party soon.

Oh no! Where did it go?! I heard the Skool House is opening what about that? Maybe its not dead but its relocated to North Philly? I heard that places were getting raided and shit, but up here in Olney aka the hoodest part of Philly, cops defiantly have something better to worry about than silly kids getting x'd out and partying. I'm hoping it re-establishes itself becuase I don't have car! haha

I am also a noob, I go to Drexel University and have never been to a real honest to god rave but have a vast appreciation of techno music and also of partying. Partying hard. I joined these forums because I did not know there was a Philly scene and I would like to be a part of it. When I used to live in NY I partied all the time, but now that I live in Philly I seem to be partying less. I want to fix that.

IMO philly has been dead waaaaaay longer than a few months. For me, it was on it's last life in 02.

gotta agree there. from 2002 up until about last year, it was shady mcbullshit parties nonstop. Thankfully, Tru Skool stepped up and actually started doing good events.

too bad the skool house is in the shitiest part of town. i think ill stay away from the skool house.
