\\ MIXED SIGNALS \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
+ FRIDAY, AUGUST 11 + 1208 U STREET, NW 20009 + HOURS: 9PM to 6AM MIXED SIGNALS: a new monthly clubbing night and after-hours destination in Washington, DC created by a multicultural, multi-gendered group of individuals who are passionate about exploring new territory in DC club land. Live acts and DJ sets from respected artists in the international techno community will grace the dance floor with their funky, sexy, emotional, and banging dance music, appealing to both male and female audiences. Live, mixed video acts and mixed media art installations will synergize with the music and add a rich visual dimension to the experience. Join us on our journey across the spectrum of the techno sound. As we take you on a virtual tour of the global techno scene, it is appropriate to first look to the city where it all started… Detroit. \\ FEATURING \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\ DETROIT TECHNO MILITIA + T. LINDER + NEIL V. + DAN LUCAS + JAMAUL REDMOND \\ FROM PROTON RADIO + MAYA AMACK (WAXX DOLLS, NYC) + AARON ROBINSON (MIXED SIGNALS, DC) \\ LIGHTING AND VJs BY: + CLIMBING THREAD EVENTS \\ ART INSTALLATIONS + MICHELLE SATOVIC (Abstract, Experimental, Mixed-Media Art Using Oil, Resin, Beeswax, and Glazes) + MAJA PETRIC ("Underwater Love" Installation) \\ HI-FI SOUND BY: + JBL \\ HISTORY \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ > Detroit Techno Militia's T. Linder, Neil V., and Dan Lucas have all made headlining performances at the world-renowned Detroit Electronic Music Festival. JaMaul Redmond, the newest addition to the DTM crew, is an accomplished DJ and producer who will be demonstrating his studio skills by way of a live performance using various tone modules from his studio arsenal. The members of Detroit Techno Militia are not as angry as you might think, however. The only bombs that interest them are of the vinyl variety, and the soldiers' only mission is the "battle for the soul of the music." ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) > Detroit Techno Militia will be celebrating their newly minted record label, created in a deal with Cratesavers Muzik, a record label founded by the legendary Trackmasta Lou of SCAN7 and Posatronix formerly of AUX88. Detroit Techno Militia launched the label to display the latent talent within the militia. "With the likes of their self-termed 'soldiers', the militia is unstoppable" said Mike Harmon, long time DTM supporter and electronic music aficionado. "Forming a record label is the next step they needed to take after building their solid reputation in Detroit and around the world." Their in your face style of producing and DJing will surely raise eyebrows around and throughout the techno music community. The "take no prisoners" attitude towards their music helps the militia to advance and spread the gospel of the music that inspires them, and that will surely speak volumes. Detroit Techno Militia was established as a grass roots DJ/Producer collective on a mission to promote Detroit Electronic Music around the world. All members are deeply inspired by Detroit's' techno history and work closely with several of Detroit's most influential DJ's and producers. Members include Andy Hegler, Annix, Dan Lucas, Darkcube, Der Mercenary, Dimitri Pike, Doc, Loner9, Mitch Walcott, Neil V., Sougon and T.Linder. (Label Press Release) > Proton Radio is a listener supported internet radio station that features some of the best in electronic music, live and on demand. Founded in 2002, Proton has grown to be one of the most listed to electronic music outlets, and has featured mixes by most of the biggest names in the industry on its 100+ stations.
