I remember..

hola I was going to post a reply about my remembernce as to what happenend to the scene up here - but this seems just as much of an adequate place for reminisence-
I started partyin around 98' - maybe a little later then that- We use to travel down from Maine to go to the asylum- I also remember several other parties in paticular; One was in Fall River Mass to see DJ cloud Skipper- I also remember going to a party at an abondond golf ball warehouse- though I remember the 'sludge' on the ground was kind of sickening and it def. ruined my pair of pink sneakers that I aquired in boston... Other locations included a private club that I went to a few times- it was in boston and it was place ( I lack the name) that claimed to be Boston's only after hours club.

I also attended Barefoot Rhythem parties that Micah held- I don't know what happend to him?? But he was the one that invited me to my first partie - and I have to give him mad props for doing soo - at the time I was interested in going but had no clue where to start in rural maine if you know what I mean?

Good times came from parties and some sad - One of my last parties was after Jason and Amy were murdered in Rhode Island- Some of you may know what I am talking about but for those who don't [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - I remember that party being primarlily Jungle and a majority of people seemed very Jaded and kids started going to parties not for the MUSIC or the PLUR but for the DRUGS - at that time the things that I loved about Raves vanished and many of the people that I knew faded into their "adult" lives and responsiblities and at least in New England the rave scene as I remember it - died.

I like to think it still exsists around here - maybe underground? I know there was talk about that was the only way it was going to survive since the law was really cracking down on such things- but I think it would have re surfaced and it doesn't sound that way from these message boards in here - how sad

I started in 1994-95, first event was "Grin", a Kris Klark party in Maine. Been to most everything that happened in Maine and a few Boston and NH events up through 2002 when I got tired of etards and meth-heads.

Any of you every hit up "galanta" outlaws in ME or Merge? Dat was my people doing that shit. Just curious if we ever met.

Oh yeah, I remember that "after hours" club you were talking about. You had to get on the list through email to get in? And I went to Baby Blue at the Fitchburg Civic Center.

Re: How many Vets?

hey- I do not recall going to the above mentioned parties- I did attend a few in Maine - but they were produced by "barefoot rhythms" - I wish I went to ton more but whatchya gonna do huh?

Your correct on the priviate club thing- I only really went once- the last time I went there I found the place too late- and ended up chillin out on the streets of boston until morning ( what an adventure..you should see the streets past 2 am- they are as bare as a rural road- kindda creepy really!!)

I remember all that. I started raving in 1993 on the west coast and moved to Boston in 1997.

yeh, i grew up in boston, but just moved to San Diego, Ca in 2005. Gotta say, the rave scene out here is every week, but they are WAYYYY too into the drugs over here. They'll be sick ass DJ at a certian party and i'll be psyched as hell, while others never heard of them and are just like "i'm gonna roll balls"....sad.

If I remember it was "La Boom"?

Also Playmakers in NH, Tantra in Saugus, and like 3 or 4 more in NH that I don't remember the names of right now.

But yeah, I remember them ALL!

Tantra sucked. I remember ever now and then the Palace, right across the street, when they had Tilt, would have a good DJ, but very seldom.

Maybe...I knew everyone in the Maine scene at one point or another. Do you know Blue SOul? DJ? He and i were roommates and had many afterhours and a few full on events at our loft in Portland...it was good to live over a bar sometimes...no neighbors..

Problem is, more people remember me than I remember them...usually I know the face. But Heather sounds familiar so it could be.

We also used to go to the loft quite a bit, Columns parties, etc...

I live in Maine, and am quite desperate to attend a rave now that I'm the only one accountable for myself. We held a wannabe-rave here at my house just this last weekend, and that's got me planning on attending every rave NY and north :P

I'm not oldschool, but one of my brothers is, I'll have to point him to this thread because he might know some of you.
