Omg.......I just watched that and I'm so jealous that you guys got to experience parties like that. I'm going to my first on saturday and I know parties today arent like they used to be, but I'm still really excited.

it's all what you make it!

Well minus the phat venue, the sick dj's and the amazing visuals. But yeah.

Hopefully someday one of these promoter people will have a heart about throwing parties again.

Hope you have an incredible time!

.... I remember going to the last massive all-night party out in Indio [Nocturnal] a couple years ago. I definitely didn't think that was going to be the last. That was a great event.

Flashed back to a time that meant so much to me and tried to remember faces, places, top records at the time, the scene, DJ's, running into cops, the hundreds of miles I drove to go to parties and one thing that stood out more than anything was how the evolution of things need to fulfill themselves so other generations, if I can call it that, can have the opportunity to share the same fascinations, loves, compassions, enjoyments and above all the true spirit of what is and how the rave scene should be.

The main reason why I am sharing these times in space is to give people an idea as to how things were so that they can understand where they are now, why they take the time every weekend to gather with friends to party it up and have a good time, why they defy the mainstream and proclaim that what they truly endear is what they do, what they listen to, what they hold close to their hearts more than anything is their persona, their livelihood but lastly, why they are part of this website or any other website related to raves. History, clueless of what the future may be, created a path, a foundation that we all surround and abide by in our own personal domains. Ive always said that it is pointless to be part of something if you dont know its history, its early beginnings, the people that fed into a concept that they believed and nurtured that in a matter of years, manifested not a nation but an entire world. This, the scene as far as I have understood it, is your childhood, is your time capsule, is your defining moment in your life and there is no second chance to relive it. It is here, it is now, it is....you and tomorrow and what you make of it.

Time, passes. You will grow. You will become a responsible member of society, you will become a parent, you will become a grandfather, you will outgrow what you love and seek what life asks of you wether you like it or not, time will take grasp of you and once it does, you will sit back and only have a memory or memories of what and who made your life happy.

You will think of the way you raved your ass off.

The point of all of this, we have one time in our lives to do what makes us happy and what makes us feel on top of the world. I am happy, at 31 years old, that I can sit back, have a beer, and not think back, relocate memories or even remember who or what was where....I can pop a tape in my VCR and view the way things were, the happiness that I felt, the people that surrounded me and made me feel special and the music (THE WHOLE POINT OF EVERYTHING I EVER SAY), this....is truly special and I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, give it up for anything if ever asked for one wish.

Enjoy life, enjoy your friends, enjoy the music, enjoy every minute of who you are and dont just take pictures of where you were and who you were with, record it. It is a part of your life that will pass and will never be replayed ever again. Sink your teeth into it, be who you are, stay up till 5am, dance like youve never danced before and once you turn 50, not only tell your children about it, show them. Show them how it was, how it is and how it should be.

Peace.

Wow. You are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. God I hope we can get back to parties like JujuBeats and Dune. House of Dreams was a good one too. I'll go with my son when I'm 50. I do not care. The vibe during those parties was spectacular. I'm 30 so I'm right there with you. I would love to see some footage from 98 at Santas Village. That was even better than 99 imo. Dune IV was the first desert party I ever went to. That too was simply amazing. That experience from beginning to end is very hard to top. I just remember Robbie Hardkiss holding toilet paper screaming at the top of his lungs for more sound. What a great night. Who all played that night? I remember Thee-O opening and a few others that played. Dont remember what order though. Chris Lawrence, Taylor, Robbie Hardkiss. Who else?

YUPPERS!!!!
Shit I think back to when I was still dancing when the sun was coming up.

Can't think of a party I went to, that comes to mind, that topped that one.

I've been looking for pictures OR VIDs of that one for a long long time. Haven't really found shit (online). I didn't start bringing still cameras to parties until a few months after Juju 98.

That was a great party. Doc's sunrise set in the morning was spectacular!!!! WE tore Santa's Village UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the main room most the night, right in front of that big ass ball.

The Techno room was packed and going off (from what I could see, never made it in ther)!!!

They started throwing out glowsticks by the boxfull at one point in the mainroom.

The walls of speakers!!!

The little mushroom seats to sit on.

The big ass Nocturnal Flier/Stickers they were passing out!!!

All the car alarms going off from the bass in the main parking lot!!!

The horses were going apeshit!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh........memories.

I will never forget the feeling I had when i saw 20,000 ravres outside waiting to get in. Watching the cars with the multi colored parking lights blinking their hazards on the way up the mountain. And Doc's set was legendary. I couldn't believe my eyes once the sun rose. Everybody was just looking around like holy shit I can't believe this shit. I showed some of the old homies I hadn't talked to in years that video clip, now we talk daily. Thanks Old school, single handedly reuniting the scene. Ravers pushing eachother on the rides Skipping to our car for a whole mile uphill at 9am. Driving all over the world to buy tickets last minute, making bead braclets to hand our to everyone yay! For a while there Raveworld.net had a Juju98 clip up, till they went offline. Wonder what ever happened to that footage.

I didnt do it! All of you did, single handedly, everyday and every weekend. Glad to hear that the clips have brought you and your friends together again. I have more stuff but havent had a chance to dub any of it yet.

You guys remember "Bigger"? I have video of it. Nocturnal Wonderland 1999 (I think), One off parties: Midnight Sun, Landing, Outside, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Armaggedon 1997, Oasis, The Love Festival, Something Wonderful, Full Circle, Rewind w/Dieselboy (1998 or 1999 dont have a date on it) plus older footage from other events from the mid 90's like weeklies: Euphoria and Angie's Urbal Jungle <-- remember those??!! Lots of stuff, too little time right now but will work on 'em as soon as I get a break.
